Question

Zoom functionality for Custom Fileds in Cloud

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I can see zoom functionality is available for custom fields. But when I click on the link to zoom, it navigates to the relevant page without filtering the specific record.

Is it possible to filter a record in the destination screen during zooming of a custom field?

Hi @EntIshikH,

As I have seen some cases related to zoom functionality for custom fields in the cloud, the solution for this issue was discussed several times with the RnD, and what was decided finally was that when navigating to a custom field we will navigate without the filter.

AstI confirmed with our internal teams at the moment we do not have a better solution for this. If someone needs to find a correct record, the user will have to navigate to the page related to the relevant referenced entity > Filter the relevant record. That is the only solution we can provide for this issue. Therefore you can manually filter at the destination, that’s possible but the framework can not filter into the correct record.

I found this same problem in IFS Apps 10 Aurena. (i.e. Custom Fields which reference another Aurena page can be clicked to open the applicable page, but no filter is applied to show the correct record).

In the current situation, the zoom function takes the user to the wrong record which is somewhat error prone (if the user doesn’t realise that the wrong record is shown, they might edit the wrong data).

So my questions...

  1. As the zoom function doesn't work correctly, is there any way to remove the zoom function from a Custom Reference Field (to prevent errors)?
  2. Also, do IFS have any plans to fix/enhance this functionality so clicking on a custom reference field correctly displays the applicable record?
