In IFS Cloud, is there a way to pre-populate the next system-generated Person ID on the New Employee wizard? From my understanding, you can use workflows to pre-populate fields and was going to see if that could do what I need. The ultimate goal with filling that field is so we won’t have to fill that field when creating a new employee based off a new person employment. I was trying to see if this can be done via workflow or would this have to be a customization? Thank you.
I was able to create a workflow that creates the person record before the employee assistant finishes to prevent the error message ‘Person Info Does not Exist’ and grab it based off the next system generated person ID.
That works, although surely you can just leave the person ID field blank to force the generation using the enterprise series ID.
I’ve done this myself in my instance where the new employment assistant is customized to basically hide the person ID field so that my users don’t even see it, which forces the assistant to create the person ID with the next available ID and does not give the user a chance to mess it up by manually inputing a value :)
