Navigator Designer - propagate menu changes made

Hi Community experts,

I have create a custom menu for BDRs so that our internal business users can self serve and find all the lists they want to maintain in one place in IFS menu.

What is the recommended way to propagate this to other IFS environments like TST & PRD etc there seems no way to bundle them in an ACP,  for example.

Or is it simply the case that you apply the required changes in each IFS instance manually as and when.

TIA on this recommendation

@rkescoupland yes, when you add, the ACP will include all the Navigator changes you’ve done and it’s not possible to pick-and-choose individual changes.

Best regards,

Rukmal

@rkescoupland what version are you running? If you added these through Navigator Designer, you should be able to export them to an ACP and import them to other environments.

IFS Cloud 23R1 and up support Navigator Configurations in ACP’s, see https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r1/040_tailoring/225_configuration/850_configuration_lifecycle_management/070_known_limitations/#supported_custom_object_types

Best regards,

thank you, it’s good to know.

I was looking for the steps, as it is not obvious from within navigator designer - how I add to an ACP.

@rkescoupland did you get a chance to try this out?

If not, the steps are to first do your Navigator Configuration changes, then create a new ACP,  and then from the Application Configuration Package page, use the Add option in the Items section.

From the resulting dialog, you can choose “Navigator Configuration” as the type. I believe the Item Name will display the Configuration Contexts with changes - see screenshot below showing a published change on the Global context.

@Rukmal Fernando I am trying this out...I’ve added the object and using the drop down to select...i have 2 objects in my environment from the drop down ‘Global’ & ‘commercial’ - is the Global one then inclusive of changes i have made. So if I added a new menu with pages in the Navigator Tree in Application Base Setup - they will be included automatically? So that ACP includes the entire Navigator Menu - not just the new additions I made - I think this is what has confused me.
