Hi,

Our customer using IFS Cloud 22.2.5 asked some questions about the registration (logging) of system events.

Here they are:
Please provide me with information on what possibilities there are in IFS for logging system events and also from user work.
1. Is and what is logged by default ?
2. When an error occurs during system operation, is an error log recorded and where is it stored ?
3. Is it possible to configure event logging ?
4. Is user working time , logging in, logging out recorded ?
5. Is user activity information stored and for how long ?
6. Is the history of e.g. system parameters, order data changes etc. recorded, where and for which data?
We would like to learn more about the capabilities of IFS in this area so that we can determine the possibilities for e.g. billing for work in the system, analysis of logs for errors, documentation for audit purposes.
If there is documentation that describes this aspect, please send or point to it or, if this information can be provided at a meeting, please suggest a date for such an online meeting.

Do you know the answers to these questions (not necessarily all of them, there may be specific points)?

We don’t have the cloud version so I will be listing what is available in IFS 10.

Look into IFS history log for custom logging options.

Customer Order, Inventory Transactions, Part Costs, and Purchase Order Change Order are examples of some of the built in logging.

In Solution Manager > Monitoring > Server Alert Log Categories sets some admin type of logging.
