We are currently working on our IFS Cloud Upgrade project. So we have installed 25R1SU5 on test environment and 24R2SU9 on our dev.

This week we realized that the Web DevTools are no longer working for both environments.

I suspect the latest update(s) for MS Edge to be the cause of this problem.

The problem manifests itself like this. I open IFS Cloud, active the devtools link. Then I press F12 and I can see the standard network traffic from IFS Cloud and I can also Inspect web page elements.

As soon as I activate the IFS Web DevTools there is only the start page shown. No network or trace information:

Also the network traffic is no longer recorded and stopped. I cannot inspect page elements anymore and the reload for the page is not working.

Is anybody else experiencing this problem and has found a solution?

IFS confirmed this is a known issue for Edge version 142.0.3595.53. IFS R&D is currently investigating.

Hi @TEFCRFU,

Yes, you are correct. I am also facing same issue in Edge.

This seems Edge issue only, though working fine in Google Chrome.

Hi @Abdul,

thank you for your fast reply. Unfortunately we cannot use Chrome because of the policy of our company. Do you know if IFS is aware of this and working on a solution?

Am I able to open a ticket to address this problem?

best regards
Christian

Hi @TEFCRFU,

I am not sure whether IFS is aware about this.

Better you should raise a ticket, and let them investigate.

Hi @TEFCRFU

I searched online for possible issues and below is what i found. Check whether this are helpful for you

to fix your issue.  Note: Please make sure you are sure about the fixes suggested online for the issues before trying otherwise you may start having new issues. I am just getting you all this information by searching online only.

Potential Causes

  • Edge Update Interference: Recent Edge versions (e.g., 137.0.3296.52 or later) have introduced bugs in DevTools, such as shrunk Network Preview panels (limited to ~300x150 pixels due to iframe CSS changes) or broken layouts. This affects web apps like IFS Cloud that rely on DevTools for debugging.
  • Extension Compatibility: The IFS Cloud Web DevTools extension is distributed via the Chrome Web Store and designed for Chromium-based browsers. Edge users often report it failing to load or function properly post-update, as Edge doesn't always pull extensions seamlessly from the Chrome store without tweaks.
  • Windows/Edge Integration: Updates can trigger security prompts or reset browser policies, breaking ClickOnce launches or DevTools access in IFS Apps/Cloud environments.
  • Historical Precedent: Similar breakages occurred after Windows updates (e.g., April 2018) or Edge patches, often fixed by reinstalls or rollbacks.
  • Reset Edge DevTools Settings - Open Edge > Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to default. - Or, in DevTools: Gear icon > Restore defaults and reload.

  • Disable/Reload Extensions - Edge > Extensions (edge://extensions/) > Toggle off IFS Web DevTools > Reload Edge > Re-enable. - If not installed, add from Chrome Web Store: Search "IFS Cloud Web DevTools" and sideload to Edge.

  • Clear Edge Cache & Restart - Edge > Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data (select Cached images/files, Cookies). - Close all Edge instances via Task Manager, then relaunch.
