We are trying to get IFS 10 Update 10 to log into our Exchange 2016 server to send emails instead of just anonymously relaying the messages. Would anybody be willing to share how they got this working? We are receiving error messages like “Unable to convert socket to TLS” and “Unsupported or unrecognized SSL message”

When I did a quick search, it looks like the first message has to do with a certificate.  You may need to install an exchange client certificate on the IFS application server.

We are having the same issue with Apps 9 and Apps 10. No resolution after 20+ days with IFS.

Did you change the security protocol to use TLS?

Yes, we did. We actually had to turn off the Security Protocol from using TLS in order to send emails and not get the error. Our setup has been the same for over a year for Mail_Sender but 20+ day the emails started sending slow and not at all. Reported it to IFS and the only solution we have found at this time is to turn off TLS. They have not been able to resolve the issue yet.

All our internal applications use TLS via the exchanger server and work fine. Seems like it’s something with IFS.

Is it possible that it is a Windows or .NET framework update?
