Hello All!

Is there a setting in IFS Cloud where I can tell it what context I would like to default to when editing a page via the page designer?  We have several contexts, one of which I am part of, so when I go to open the page designer it defaults to that context.  However, that context is only needed for a couple pages and I am almost always working on the global context instead.  AS an example, here is the context setting when I open the page designer on the purchase order screen -

Notice it defaults to “ACE Part Team”.  This page doesn’t even have a saved configuration for that context, yet it still defaults to this.  I need to remember to change that value to global every time I want to edit, and it is becoming frustrating.

Hi @CTomlinson,

I don’t think there is any option to map the Default Context for a business user. Hope you are aware of Context Configuration Mappings, and the default context would only be as per context mappings.

Abdul Rehman

@CTomlinson agree with what @Abdul says. There is no page to setup context per user. Context is determined dynamically. When a user logs in, the Configuration Context Mappings rules are executed and the result is the context that will be applied for the user session.

I’ve seen this question asked multiple times. Would be worthwhile to create an idea for R&D to consider in future Release Updates.

I thought that was the case but figured I would check.  I am very familiar with the context mappings but was just hoping maybe there was a secret way around this other may have known about.  Appreciate the responses and I’ll get an idea submitted!

If anybody would like to support the idea here is the link to upvote - Allow "Default Context" Option in Page Designer | IFS Community
