Usually, systems prompt “Character string buffer too small” when the number of characters for a specific string (any other data type) is larger than it is supposed to cater to the database level.
This could be either addressed by RnD ( Or that may be already addressed by a bug fix ) The fix might introduce a way to extend the length of the string in the database level or limit it on the client-side.
Nevertheless best way to proceed with this error is investigating the issue technically. Hence proceed with techncail investigations accordingly by IFS or any other means.

This is a generic error message. So it has to be technically investigated. As mentioned earlier, kindly raise a case to IFS Global Support.
