Voucher approval workflow with Voucher type internal ledger
Hello,
I was able to setup the voucher approval workflow for most of our vouchers except the ones where ledger is “internal ledger” only.
The selection “use voucher approval workflow” is greyed out.
I did not see in the documentation any restrictions related to the ledger.
Did I missed something ?
Thanks
Alain

Hi,
I did not test for IL only. But it looks like you can use the option for separate user approval box. This simple box allows a user to enter the voucher. They can’t approve. Some other user would approve. It’s a very simple / easy way to provide a segregation of duties, yet you don’t need to set up a formal workflow. It should be a good / easy process. You don’t assign who will authorize, just that some other user must authorize.
Best regards,
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
Thank you for your comment.
This could be a workaround but not fully satisfactory in a SOX environment where we defined approvers depending on the amount of the voucher. We need to rely on the system to ensure approvals are made by the correct persons, if not we have to setup additional controls and documentation to demonstrate the effectiveness of the controls.
Could It be linked to my access right ? or a bug ?
Best regards
Alain
Hi,
I wanted to share the answer from IFS support regarding the impossibility to activate the voucher approval workflow for internal ledger voucher type.
“As per the current behavior of the application, this option is supported only for the ledger types "General Ledger" and "GL, Affect IL", and not for the "Internal Ledger".
This is because the Internal Ledger is designed for internal management purposes and does not directly impact with financial statement processes. Therefore, approval controls are not part of the current internal ledger functionality. Should the current functionality not align with your business requirements, we recommend submitting an new enhancement request via the IFS Community Idea Wall to facilitate consideration in future product enhancements.”
Clearly, we are missing here a key functionnality in a SOX environment. How to push this need on the “idea wall” ?
