We are creating transactions for transfer of fixed assets.  This uses the FAP51 is used for ‘Transfer Sale, Acquisition Value, Counter Posting’ Posting type.  The control type associated with this is AC1.  Our accounting team would like to have AC8 used so that the account is different when going to one company vs. another.  When we attempt to connect FAP51 to AC8, we are unable.  Is this possible to do so that we can have different accounts by company for transfers, or do we need to do a GL adjustment to move the $ after the transfer is complete?

Thank you for your consideration.

Hi Robin,

I agree with Daryl that there isn’t any way using standard IFS to directly connect these.

Are you using Transaction Reasons within IFS Fixed Assets? It is possible to connect FAP51 to the Control Type FAC4 - Transaction Reason. If you set FAP51 to use this, then you could create a different Transaction Reason for each Counterpart Company, and use this on each sale. It would rely on the user choosing the correct Transaction Reason, but may avoid having to do the GL Transfer.

Thanks,

Chris

We had the same issue with this a few years ago and were also unable to connect AC8 to FAP51.
So a GL transfer will have to be made i’m afraid.

@ChrisD Thank you for the recommendation.  We will give it a shot.  If it doesn’t work, we will just do the adjustments as @darylslinn mentioned.

I appreciate both of you taking the time to respond and help guide us.

Robin

Hi @ChrisD.  I updated the FAC4 with accounts by transaction reason.  However, I am not prompted for a reason when I transfer.  How do I get the system to recognize that I want ‘X’ transaction to be used when I do the transfer?

Thank you for your assistance.

Robin
