Hi,

Could you please advice how to post a payment on accounts with no invoice attached?

Thank you.

You can create a Customer Payment on Account (CUPOA) or Suppler Payment on Account (SUPOA) e.g. when creating a new Mixed Payment. You can enter e.g. a customer payment for the respective customer without to match any invoice. You enter only the payment amount and the customer id in the Lump Sum. Once you approve the Mixed Payment the system will create the CUPOA.

Hi,

Typically I would “highly” recommend the new item functionality.  Typically for my clients we set up various invoice series such as DM (debit memo) UD unauthorized deduction, PRE prepayments and other. none of those would have the automatic numbering.

Then when creating the new item (rather than the CF series) we can enter a series and reference such as  PRE - Prepayment for XYZ.  This becomes the invoice number - It’s highly visible, and we know precisely why created the record.  If we use the CUPOA, IFS gives a system generated number that we must then investigate what is CUPOA 15?   But if we use the invoice series as a prefix then the number as a comment we know why the record was created.  You may even be able to enter a payment reference to further describe the “why”.

Hope this helps

Best regards,

Thomas

Hi,

The below screen is an example. This is an example using the new item and a user defined invoice series OVR (Over Payment). When doing this the new item shows on the customer account with some reference that the customer can recognize as well as something AR staff can recognize. You don’t need to investigate “what in the world is CUPIA 15” for example.

New item is highly recommended especially when combined with a user defined series.

As mentioned in Mixed Payment window;

use enter supplier payment and mention supplier id under identity and similarly

use enter customer payment and mention customer id under identity field

this would create SUPOA/CUPOA.

Thereafter use supplier offset/customer offset to set off SUPOA/CUPOA created against a commitment.
