Issue in Lease Accounting

we have an existing lease for which we are trying to modify the Terms and Conditions.   The amount of the lease has changed for each month going forward and we are trying to modify the amount.  We first get an error saying we cannot modify it with an existing Amortization Schedule but cannot do anything with the Amortization Schedule since we have posted Proposals against it.

 

Test scenario to Modify Existing Lease

  1. Go to the Terms and Conditions tab
  2. RMB online and go to Terms and Conditions
  3. Change the Lease Amount
  4. Change go forward Amount and the remaining number of Lease Payments. > Click ok

 

 

  1. Try to delete the current Schedule ID and get this

 

So how do I modify this Lease for the go-forward months?

  1. Set the Contract status back to Preliminary
  1. Enable Modify button for the next 12 Periods in Amortization Schedule (Click on the Check icon on the Modify Column to Enable Period you want to change the amount)
  1. Modify periodic amounts - as needed - but manually !!!
  1. Enter a Modify Comment against the same lines
  1. Save
  1. Run Modify Amortization Schedule as of 01/01/2024
  1. Set the Contract back to Active status
  1. Create Recognition Posting
  1. Create Periodical & Payable Proposals for 2024 till the Contract end just for verification purposes
