Manual journal ‘M’ voucher type has been posted to increase the value of a fixed asset but that is not being included in depreciation.

The transactions are at ‘Ready’ status

However the base value and adjusted acquisition value are still showing at the lower value ignoring the journaled amount in the main object balance analysis screen. higher value on ‘balances’

The difference of 13k is not being included in Depreciation calculations

Should the base value not be showing the revised (higher amount)

increased value in ‘balances’
Different (Lower) value

New to IFS , any help is much appreciated. It seems to be working fine for other assets where similar transactions have been posted.

Hi,

Could you check whether the “Add Investment” transaction is Posted? for that Asset

Best Regards

Hello @Ramessh Kanna

I have looked at transaction analysis and accounting transactions. It seems it has posted fine.

Although the object transaction date is in the financial year 2021, the Event date is 1st Jan 2022. Status is ready

Even now in period 3, there is a difference. Any further thoughts please?

Many thanks

Hi,

Could you please check the following,

  1. Financials\Fixed Assets\Object Functions\Add Investment - Progress
    1. Is there a Record for the Particular Asset in this Window. If Yes then RMB and Select “Create Transactions” and then “Activate”. Date should be accurate to the Actual Date to which the transaction should be effected.
  2. Financials\Fixed Assets\Depreciation Basic Data\Depreciation Method
    1. Could you please check the attributes
      1. Base Value Type
      2. Change Base Value
      3. Add Investment Starting Principle
    2.

@Ramessh Kanna

  1. No data in Add Investment Progress. (User thinks this must have been done back in January hence transactions appears in the object transactions analysis screen shown above ‘Ext Add Investment’ on object) Do I need to check anything else here?
  2. Depreciation Method attributes
  1. Base Value Type - ACQ.VAL.
  2. Change Base Value - Depreciation Year
  3. Add Investment Starting Principle - Beginning of Period

Thank you for your assistance

Perhaps “Change Base Value” option should be set to “Depreciation period” here?
