Hi @Manavi Weerarathne

Kindly note when you are posting an Instant Invoice with a Sales Object, the posting that goes to the account defined in Sales Object will be recorded with MANUAL Posting Type.

As Ledger Accounts are blocked against MANUAL  postings (this is to prevent imbalances between the ledgers and the general ledger), application does not allow to enter any Account ID with Ledger checkbox in Sales Object window as far as I know.

Thanks and Best Regards

Hi @Manavi Weerarathne

You can create and assign an account to the sales object using following steps,

  1. Open the Sales Objects window.
  2. Create a new record.
  3. In the Object ID field, enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters for the sales object ID.
  4. Enter a description for the sales object in the Description field.
  5. In the Price field, enter the price of the sales object in the currency format used for invoicing.
  6. In the Price Type field, enter the price type of the sale object used for invoicing.
  7. In the Delivery Type field, select the delivery type used for invoices covering trade within the EU from the List of Values.
  8. Select the Taxable check box if the sales object should be taxable.
  9. A value must be entered either in the Tax Code field or the Tax Class field if Object Level is selected in IFS Enterprise/Company/Tax Control/General tab. Select the tax code or tax class used for calculating tax on the sales object from the List of Values.
  10. Select a value for the Unit Of Measure field to indicate the measure in terms of which the amount or the quantity of objects sold is stated.
  11. In the Account field, select the account to which the object's sales will be posted from the List of Values. The account can be changed when using the sales object on an invoice line.
  12. In the code fields, enter the values for code parts BJ. These are used in the same way in which the account is used. Note that the account's code part demands are not defined here.
  13. In the Project Activity ID field, select the project activity from the List of Values. This field is only used if the project was entered as part of the code string and the project was created in the IFS/Project component.
  14. Save the changes.

But as per your question of assigning a ledger Account check box ticked Account to a sales object won’t allow within the application, since sales objects are recorded with Manual Posting and for the reason that the ledger accounts are blocked against Manual postings to prevent imbalances between the ledgers and the general ledger.

So creating a Sales object against a Ledger Account with ledger Account check box ticked won’t be possible as per the prevailing standard functionality of the Application.

Hope this helps
