Question

Change in Payment Institute

Forum|alt.badge.img+5

We are moving our main business cash account to a new bank. I am wondering what most people do.

  1. Do you just change the connection on your cash account (SJCHK is ours) to have the updated payment institute - and if so what happens to the history?
  2. Do you create a new cash account?
  3. Or is there something I am not thinking of?

Hi,

Once a cash account is used in the transaction, you are not allowed to change payment institute. Actually a cash account represent the bank account in the bank. I am always creating a new cash account when there is a new account for the company.

And naming convention of cash account is important here for the future. I dont use generic code but specific codes.

Hope this helps

Thank you gumabs - your response was exactly the type of information I was looking for! Once we start the new account - I may have more questions but at least you are giving me a good jump start!
