Hello.

 

I was able to import a budget file via Budget version > Import from File.  When I go to Budget Period Amounts, I see the amounts there. Budget status is active. But when I go to GL Balance Analysis I do not see anything appearing in the Planning Amount column, which I assume is where the budget amounts should show. Am I missing something perhaps?  I would appreciate any guidance on this.

Hi, 

 

You're probably missing a few steps / set up. 

If I remember correctly apps 10 changed the process. 

The budget / forecast values in GL balance analysis can be different values based on set up. This change added vary good flexibility, however, it does require set up. 

See balance sets. 

After you set up a balance set, then that balance set can be included in Balance analysis.

Hi, 
I have a follow up question to this.

More regarding if im missing a step up to the check in GL Balance Analysis. 

I am testing out Cloud as we speak and am trying to check so the budget works fine, but I can’t seem to see the budget for 2026. Do I need to do any steps between:
Budget Versions → Budget Allocation Keys → Import budget → Allocate All Year Values → Check in GL Balance Analysis.

Sure, this is a bit simplified but what may I be missing?

Hi, 

For Cloud, did you set up the balance set?    You need a balance set in order to see the budget in balance analysis. 

A balance set is used to define the source of the values that appear in budget area of the balance analysis.  It’s flexible, as such, it needs to be defined as to what you want to see in balance analysis.

Yeah, I’m aware but thank you for the reminder. 

Could it ‘Balance Set’ be something in our setup that needs to be fixed in order for it to actually work?

Or is there a step in my workflow that is missing?

‘Balance set must be set up correctly. 

The balance set X was able to show in Bal Analysis.
