Hello, looking to understand the differences between the Person Competencies and Employee Competencies.

We have imported data to the PERS_COMPETENCY_PROFILE  view and the data seems to be the exact same other then that there are few differences in column.

Is there a benefit to focus one over the other?

From a PSO perspective there is no difference. There is a difference however if you consider downstream processes in HCM. For an employee you may have procedures to make sure they keep their competency or even increase the level, trainings, re-certifications, etc. This is something you often don’t need with persons.

@Alexander Heinze if we remove the Employee Competency screen or not grant access to it, will it effect the Person Competency screen or any other functionality in the cloud or pso environment?

You mentioned that you can manage the competency and level on the employee competency entity, however it seems I am able to do the same on the person competency entity, is this not the same form of management of competency?

Is it safe to say that if the position and roles are not specifically defined or being used, there will be no issues using the person competency entity/view?

If you only require competencies for PSO (not for HCM) you should be good with just person competencies, that’s also the way I use it.
