Cloud File Storage Migration Tool can be used to migrate media items from older releases into Cloud File Storage of IFS Cloud release.

But I didn’t find an information that the tool supports archived media items in the source system.

Can Cloud File Storage Migration Tool also be used to migrate archived media items even if it’S not documented?

If not, what would be a practicable way to migrate archived media items in Apps10 to Cloud File Storage in R24?

The volume of media items is extremely big (several TB). Therefore, it’s not an option to first migrate all media items to the Apps 10 database before running the Cloud File Storage Migration Tool.

If you used the old media archiving functionality, we don't have any tool for helping out, not any ready thinking on how it can be done.

This has been documented in the technical Documentation for Cloud File Storage Migration Tool. The bottom most paragraph of that page specifies the below,

---------------- ----------------

How to handle archived media items

The Media Archiving functionality was deprecated in IFS Cloud 22.

This tool does not try to handle media items archived using the Media Archiving functionality. Customers who use that, and who are going to upgrade to IFS Cloud, must first bring in the archived media items they want to migrate into the database, then this tool can migrate those items to File Storage. This could be done in batches.

https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/030_administration/210_cloud_file_storage/fsmigtool/ ---------------

Given the volume concern, it will have to be done in batches.

I hope this will help.
