Hi Yashodha,

No, it's not possible.

Why would you want to do it and what would the expectations be on the behavior on such a solution?

Hi @Mathias Dahl ,

Thank you for the quick response. 😊

Customer wants to use their SharePoint as a File Storage to store documents and connect it with IFS.

Was this possible in IEE ? Anyway I'm  looking for IFS cloud.

kind regards,

Yashodha.

It's not possible in the sense that IFS cannot directly speak "the SharePoint protocol", in any way. However, if the "place" where SharePoint stores its files is a normal file folder, and this can also be shared as a normal shared folder, that folder can be used when setting up a Shared document repository. If it is useful I cannot say.

In IFS Cloud, Shared document repositories are only supported in Remote deployment.

What do they think will be better to keep the files in SharePoint than, say, an FTP server or Shared repository with a network folder?

With IFS Cloud hosted in Microsoft Azure, that would be of interest. Otherwise, the Azure DB would become too voluminous.

Hi @FleRaphaP

With IFS cloud now it is possible to use Azure storage as file storage for DOCMAN

https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/21r2/010_overview/760_file_storage_service/

Thanks

Just to make it easier to find this post, the name of the new storage option is called IFS Cloud File Storage.

@Amila Samarasinghe & @Mathias Dahl

Thank you very much for your quick reply. Does this now also work for the media library / items?

Hi @FleRaphaP

You can transfer media items between database and file storage, However media archiving to Azure storage was already available since APPS10 (or even earlier)

Thanks

Hi @RanukaSerasinghe , No, we were not able  to use SharePoint as a repository.
Instead we are planning to use File Storage option, which also know as IFS Cloud Storage.

kind regards,

Yashodha.

HI @Mathias Dahl ,

Please refer my today’s post.

If it is not possible to configure Sharepoint as a DOCMAN repository, how complex is to do a MOD to achieve that.

Thanks GaSoGB
