Hello IFS Community,

I hope everyone is doing well.

I was helped before in exporting a copy of physical documents from IFS.

Here is the link for my post =>

I wondered if there was a way to export the document's metadata too.

How could I do that?

We are using IFS9

Thanks,
JL

Use an old school SQL script that loops over the data you are interested in and which generates either INSERT and UPDATE statements to insert and update data in the other database or, the better option to generate code that uses the proper APIs and their methods to do the same. This requires a quite good knowledge about the data model however.

Then we have a tool called AIIM which is really meant to be used for Asset Management but which also can export and import documents. I think however that the documents need to be connected to equipment or design objects, but I don’t know for sure.

@Mayura Wasantha can you comment on the latter?

No there is no restriction as such. We can use AIIM to Export /Import standalone documents.

Then that is a good option then. If you have access to that component/tool, that is.

Thanks!
