I have an issue that has only cropped up with a few users and can’t be solved by normal troubleshooting of Aurena Agent.

Process:

  • Prepare Work Order → Attachments → Documents → New Document
  • Set Doc Class and Format, click Select, choose file (located on desktop folder, also tried moving it to the \Documents\IFS folder)
  • Click Upload. The following error messages crop up:

1st error message: EdmFile.The "EDM File” has already been removed by another user.
2nd error message: Something went wrong when uploading the file using the Aurena Agent. Error message: Forbidden

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling Aurena Agent, including logout/reboot. Sometimes this works for a little while, but then the issue returns. As mentioned, this is only an issue for a few users, so I don’t think it’s a case of e.g. security settings crashing with IFS operations.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

@Kaya

Any clues in C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\IFS\IFSAurenaAgent\IFSAurenaAgent.log?

Do you have any check in macros installed? Those can sometimes cause problems like the first one.

About “Forbidden.”: In my experience, is usually a networking problem. It's probably a HTTP 403 error that you get, or that the Aurena Agent gets to be correct.

This is what the 403 error means (quoting from the internet):

The HTTP 403 Forbidden client error response status code indicates that the server understood the request but refused to process it. This status is similar to 401, except that for 403 Forbidden responses, authenticating or re-authenticating makes no difference. The request failure is tied to application logic, such as insufficient permissions to a resource or action.

If it only happens sometimes and only for some users, I would look into network configuration, firewalls, etc. It's strange that it's random and not consistent.

If it can be recreated somewhat reliably, it's can sometimes help to disable the Aurena Agent and see if there is still a problem. You might get another error that might give you one more clue.
