The "Default Document Class" field on the "File Import" screen is blank when the screen is opened, but is it possible to set a default value?
We know it is possible by setting "DOC_CLASS" in the "Document Default" setting, but this will set the same value for all users.
We want to set the value for each user.
IFS Document Management does not offer a possibility to set this value per user.
But in Page Designer you can define default values for all fields. And there you can have one context per user and thus different default values for each user.
I assume, this is on APP10 IEE version. (Since there is no File Import page in IFS Cloud).
The below is the setting we should use to set the Default Document Class value in “File Import”
However, this setting is common and cannot be user specific.
Hi heibde , Mayura
Thank you so much!
We don’t use Aurena.
We understand that We cannot set user specific in APP10 IEE version.

Can you explain the underlying need here, perhaps by describing the process these users follow? It's always good to learn how our users are working, and how they want to work.
Thanks!
We have registered several "document classes". For example, "CLASS1", "CLASS2", "CLASS3", and so on.
One user uses only "CLASS1" among those "Document Classes".
Another user uses only "CLASS2" among those "Document Classes".
Is there any way to avoid having to enter the document class in the "File Import" screen every time?
Thanks!
No, this cannot be set per user.
Why does different users need to use different classes, and why is it the same class for each user every time?
Just trying to understand the underlying needs here.
Hi Mathias
Noted with thank you.
The users who use "CLASS 1" and the users who use "CLASS 2" are in different departments and have different jobs.
Since each user has a different job, each user uses a different document.
That makes sense, thanks for reporting back.
We have a related setting that's not per user, but per business object type, that's used when you create a new document from the attachment panel/section. There, you can define what should be the default class (the user can override it), depending on what type of object is on that screen. You can equally well "import" files there, depending on your needs.
