Hi,

Is it possible to add or do change to ‘Create Document from Microsoft Office’ page and do relevant changes in document management Office Add-In as customizations? something for outlook import.

for example add a new field to page and in relevant changes in Add-in for import.

Best Regards,

Wasana

Any input on this? I think this  need change in visual studio and compile for a instalaltion package which customer has not provided visual studio software .

Hi @wahelk ,

Why do you need a change in the add-in?. Can you provide more detail of the specific requirement?

@Mathias Dahl , any input here, please?

Regards,

Pilar

The page (or assistant, really) can be modified as usual. If it's enough, or if you also want to modify the Office Add-In, depends on the requirements. Do they need to bring in more "fields" from Outlook? If they do, then you need to modify the Add-In, which is not for the faint-hearted. In fact, we don't support modifications in the way we see it today, with additional layers. You would basically overtake the code base and keep that maintained for the customer.

Hi Pilar, Mathias,

Thank you for the information about the feasibility.

@Mathias Dahl Yes ,We need to bring more fields from the addin. They had the same modification in IFS8.

It doesn't seem we need any changes to the GUI, only add the other end of the sender/receiver, .. just need to change some logic to add it. And, of course, will need to modify the assistant to add the field.

I understand that this is not recommended as then its not possible to get changes coming with release update  directly and need changes each time in customer side?

@Pilar Franco does IFS provides visual studio or the supporting tools for this kind of modification?

Best Regards,
Wasana

What information from the email are they missing? Perhaps it can be added in the standard product…

Hi Mathias,

In the below , Attention field is , receiver in outgoing email and sender in incoming email. So customer need to have a separate field to keep sender in outgoing email and receiver  in coming email.

currently the correspondence field is empty in both incoming/outgoing email  and no use  it seems.

Hi @wahelk ,

As far as I know, the tools we provide for development are the ones available in Developers portal (https://developer.ifs.com/), as already referred by my colleague Andrés in the support case. So, if Visual Studio is not there and you need it for your customization, you will need to get it from vendor.

Pilar

Thanks @wahelk

Your observations seems correct, we don't set Sender/Receiver. I wonder why not...

Yes its something good to have  for  every customer.

Wasana

Hi @wahelk , @Mathias Dahl ,

Do you think it would be valuable to suggest this as an enhancement request in a new Community Idea?

Why not? :-)

Hi @Mathias Dahl

The customer is asking another question

“Hi,

We had the discussion today and elvia requirement can do via a change in IFS client side. But as in community post its good to have feature in future.

We have a small question anyway. when use the addin , it promoted to 'use old outlook'. is there any new addin version that can use with new outlook version?

Best Regards,
Wasana”

Could you please answer the question of the customer?

Have a nice day

Regards

No, our Office addin for Document Management doesn't support the new Outlook client, nor do we have plans to support it.

Perhaps you can create an idea and ask for it?
