Is there a quick way (now that F9/Zoom isn’t an option) to identify where Basic Data for each Dropdown lives?

For example, if I needed to set up a new Shipment Type where would I do this?  What would the view be under in the Navigator? If I type in ‘Shipment’ there are at least 50 entries.  How would I which to choose?  Is there any logic to help?  Is it always TOPIC Basic Data or Basic Data TOPIC?  Is there a debug/page info clue?

Any assistance gratefully received.

@PRODQ normally the field names match pretty well with the page name where the data needs to be defined.

For example Shipment Type should be defined in Shipment Type page:

“SHOULD” … hmmm … So no actual mechanism for finding this accurately?  Fingers crossed it is then! :-)

Thanks, Marcel.

Hi @PRODQ

The replacement for zooming that was available in IEE is holding down CTRL and clicking on the blue hyperlinks.  This should navigate you to the relevant basic data page.

For example, it looks like your screenshot is from the Site record.  If you clicked on that while holding down CTRL, it will take you to the Shipment Type basic data page.

Sadly, @astfarazt there isn’t a blue hyperlink against fields that are dropdown like Shipment Type or Shipment Location.  I’m currently losing my marbles trying to find where to set up a Shipment Location...

@PRODQ in order to create a Shipment location you would need to do:

  • make sure you have a location group of type shipment defined
  • go to Inventory Locations - and create a new location of type Shipment in the desired site/warehouse.
    • OR
  •  go to Warehouse Navigator - filter for the site → and in the Locations tab create a new Shipping location

@astfarazt Hyperlinks are available without holding down CTRL also. Fields under Order Details tab of Customer Order are examples of that. There is a direct link to Shipment Type and many others.

We have experienced that end users click on the blue hyperlinks and change descriptions. For shipment type flags was changed. This should not be possible.
