Our shipping department likes to have the paperwork prepared in advance. The problem is if they print the delivery note the event fires to send a delivery note and shipping information to the customer.  We don’t want to send those in advance in case something changes. Has anyone come up with a way to send a notification when they hit deliver in the shipment. The problem with the built in event is it won’t list multiple customer PO’s or shipment line information,

Hi @Alex Ivkovic ,

I can only think in creating a duplicated layout as a ‘work copy’ to be used and printed when preparing the shipping in advance. You can modify the event action to be triggered only when default layout is used (or non-work copy layout). Then, you can print this new layout to be used in advance,

Now, you can trigger automatically the printing of delivery note in Deliver step with the optional events of the Shipment Type. You can pre-define the ‘No-Printout’ printer in case new printing is not needed, but this will then trigger the event action to notify the customer.

On the other hand, this process of notifying by EDI to the customer when Deliver is also a Core functionality if using the DESADV EDI message.

Pilar
