Hi,

When we loose a BO and choose a “lost-reason”, we also have to choose a “Lost-To” reason on the BO. We cannot close the BO, without choosing a Lost To reason. We are not interested in gathering that information - does anybody know, if it is possible to simply remove that field or have it fillled in pr. default with a * star icon, as I have illustrated in the example below:

As a workaround you may enter a generic Competitor ID (e.g. COMPETITOR) in Sales Basic Data > Competitors tab and use it when you are closing a lost Business Opportunity. Then the real competitor ID will not be shown with BO information.  But then later when you check in the application, you will not have a record about: against which competitor you really lost the opportunity.

When the business opportunity does not lead to a customer order, you will note that those opportunity lines are lost. You can set them as lost using the right mouse button menu. On the dialog box that appears, you can enter the reason why the opportunity line was lost and to which competitor it was lost. The status of the opportunity line is then set to Lost. This is the current design of the application where you need to set the competitor it was lost.

If you would like to remove this functionality, you can do it through a customization.

Yes - but can the generic Competitor ID be automatically filled in, so our Sales Team don’t have to enter / choose a value in that field ?

You define the competitor in the customer window in IFSAPP10. Even though you have defined the competitor here, it won’t fetch to “Lost To” field. I would suggest you to create a IFS support case on this. We can contact the Research and Development Team and further clarify on the functionality.
