We have used Vertex integration for US Sales Tax in Apps 8 for many years. It was implemented as a modification/localisation.

Currently upgrading to Apps 10 and this is now core. Not sure what needs to be done to configure this and the IFS help is not much help! Our support are struggling to find a consultant with experience in this area.

Anybody on here familiar with the setup/config?

Hi @Chanu_Yazi

I have the same problem.

Pete

We are using Vertex O series and the Apps 10 help states:

If Vertex Sales Tax Q Series or Vertex Sales Tax O Series is selected, software from Vertex must be installed.

Is the “software” included within the Apps 10 core or is this additional that we need to source and install?

Also from the Apps 10 help:

IFS Connect

In order to communicate with the Vertex Sales Tax O Series software, three routing addresses must be added in IFS Connect/Routing Addresses:

  1. Vertex - Jurisdiction Code Request, is used to get a jurisdiction code for an address.
  2. Vertex - Tax Information Request for Order, is used to get the tax rates and tax amounts from Vertex. This one is used for Sales Quotation, Customer Order, Customer Order Invoice (when the invoice is created, when updating price or qty) and RMA.
  3. Vertex - Tax Information Request for Invoice, is used to get the tax rates and tax amounts from Vertex. This one is used when printing the Customer Order Invoice. As part of this process, the invoice lines are also written to the Tax Registry in Vertex.

We need details on how to configure the routing addresses and sender and if Apps 10 is using IFS connect, does that then use SOAP/XML messaging or are we communicating directly over HTTPS to the Vertex web service?

AND with Apps 8 you also need to add the Vertex web server to the Oracle ACLs to allow the Oracle database to send/receive messages over HTTPs. The SSL certificate for the Vertex is also required for this and therefore has to be added to the Oracle wallet. I presume something similar is required for Apps 10??
