We are on IFSAPP9.  Sometimes we manufacture less than a customer orders, but have a policy that we can ship what was manufactured if it is over/under the quantity ordered by 10% or less. 

Is there an Over/Under I can set on a customer order so that when we short ship or over ship, the Customer Order automatically closes & sets the status to Invoiced/Closed?

We are upgrading to IFSAPP10 in May, so if there is nothing available like this in IFSAPP9, is there in IFSAPP10?

 

If not, what would be best practice for closing a Customer Order with a short ship?

This functionality is available on APPS10 as well as APPS9

In the Line level of the customer order, there is a column titled “closing tolerance”  (you can use RMB> Go to column for quicker navigation. By entering the desired percentage there (in this case, 10% ) the CO will reach invoiced/ closed status when you short ship or over ship accordingly.

You could also enter this value on the Sales Part and then when you enter a customer order line for the part, the Closing Tolerance will default on the customer order line -
