Idea:

Capture Source on Leads in CRM Companion (Source ID / marketing attribution)

Problem
Marketing/source attribution exists in CRM (e.g., sources for Accounts and Opportunities), and lead management is fully documented in the web client. CRM Companion covers Leads as an entity, but there’s no documented way to set a lead Source on mobile—forcing later desktop entry and risking data loss after marketing events/activities.

Why it matters

  • Accurate campaign ROI and channel performance tracking (events, conferences).

  • Reduces rework and prevents attribution gaps when leads are created in the field.

Proposed solution (mobile UX)

  • Add a Source field (drop-down) to the Lead create/edit form in CRM Companion.

  • Respect existing CRM source basic data and validation (same list as web).

Acceptance criteria

  • When creating or editing a Lead in CRM Companion, user can set Source from the same dictionary used on web (read-only if restricted by configuration).

  • Source persists offline and synchronizes to the Lead record.

Technical notes

  • Align with existing CRM “Sources” basic data already used for Lead/Accounts (leverage same entity/list provider so master data remains single source of truth).

  • No new server logic required beyond exposing the field in the mobile metadata and ensuring sync rules include the Source attribute.
