Business Opprtunity and Service Quotation

Good Morning, 

I am reaching out as my customer would like to use the Business Opportunity module to manage their sales pipeline.

Currently, it is possible to create a Sales Quotation, Sales Contract, or Service Quotation directly from a Business Opportunity.

However, when creating a Service Quotation and passing its status to accepted, the Quotation created is linked to previous Service Module not to new Service Management Module.

Has there been any communication or roadmap indicating when Business Opportunity will be integrated with the new Service Management module? Additionally, will it become possible to create a Request for Quotation or Request for Contract from the Business Opportunity?

At the moment, Business Opportunity is still partially connected to the legacy Service module when it comes to Service Quotation handling.

Even though the new Service Management module is available, the integration from Business Opportunity to Service Quotation has not yet been fully aligned with the new service architecture. That is why, when a Service Quotation is accepted, it is still linked to the previous Service module.

As of current releases, there has not been a full transition announced where Business Opportunity creates quotations directly in the new Service Management structure. This is more a roadmap and product alignment topic rather than a configuration issue.

Regarding the possibility of creating a Request for Quotation or Request for Contract directly from Business Opportunity, this depends on future enhancements. Standard functionality today allows creation of Sales Quotation, Sales Contract, or Service Quotation, but deeper integration with the new Service Management process would require product development updates.

I would recommend checking the latest release notes and roadmap updates, or raising an Idea in the IFS Ideas portal if this integration is important for your customer.
