Hi,
In IFS Cloud you are given the option to extend the Address Line characters.
However, when you make the change, it doesn’t change the length of Address Line 1 or Address Line 2.
Address Line 3-6 get updated accordingly.
Does anyone know why this is the case or is it an oversight?
What workarounds are there?

The reason is address1 and address2 fields are set to 35 character length on the table. Please see table structure from the database. Other address lines are set to 100 characters.

Unfortunately there is no workaround for it.

Thank you for the explanation, however it’s about time IFS increased the field length of Address 1 and 2.
Having 35 character limit for Address 1 and 2 in a modern day ERP/CRM system is not acceptable. Nor is having to put Address 1 and 2 into the Address 3 and 4 fields as a workaround.
+21Create a post for idea wall, or support ticket with IFS. I can only recommend this.
Maybe for work around you can use address presentation. You can hide address 1 and 2 from presentation and just show address 3 and 4. Or you can change sequence like address 3, 4, 1 and 2

Just an FYI, I’ve seen international address standards setting the max number of characters at 35.
That’s even more than UPS and Fed ex max number of characters.
Like GUMABS wrote, you can have multiple address lines, and structure those in great detail.
