I’d like to add a new stage to an existing Sales Process. I have added the new stage to the correct existing Sales Process Template, but now I am unable to add the stage to the Sales Process. Need help.

Hi @mwesley11529

In my view, the CRM Sales Process Template acts as a blueprint for the sales or lead qualification flow it defines the stages and structure but is not used directly in Business Opportunities or Leads. Instead, it serves as the foundation for creating CRM Processes.

A CRM Process is the active, operational process tied to a specific BO or Lead, created from the template and further customizable with actions and validations.

When a process is created, it inherits the stages from the template at that moment. However, if you later add new stages to the template, existing processes do not retroactively inherit those changes. In my view this is intentional because those processes are already in use for live business, and changing their structure midstream could lead to integrity issues, break reporting continuity, and disrupt workflows. Therefore, new stages will only apply to processes created after the template update.

Dulani.
