Dear Community,

want to connect Excel with IFS - My question is, what address have I to put in the field of "Connect to"?

I have tried it with a Link of the Citrix-Race: https://erldemoa10i2.corpnet.ifsworld.com:48080/

I also tried with a Link of an customer: https://exdaswvc08167.asysdaas.de:48080/

But after I press on OK an error message open with the notice: “The remote name could not be resolved.”

Do you know what Kind of mistake this is?

Thanks in Advance for your help!

Kind regards,

Nadim

I am assuming that you have the IFS Excel Add-In installed to your local machine and accessing IFS via a Citrix session.

If this is the case maybe your machine isn’t able to access IFS directly. It sounds more like a network configuration issue that your IT Department need to resolve rather than an issue with IFS.

Try to use the IFS URL in your browser rather than using Citrix. If your not able to access IFS then this will confirm the issue is with your corporate network configuration.

Regards

Hi There

You should enter the full URL of the IFS instance that you want to connect to including the http:// or https://

Cheers

We also use an IFS Race environment, which is accessed via the local PC. Where can I find the correct link to our local environment?

This looks like a network name resolution issue.

As @WyrLeeLeW said you do need to include the http:// or https:// prefix but you already confirmed that you did include that.

For the local Race environment that you access from your PC, the URL should be visible in the address bar in the web browser that you access for the main page to launch Race.

I want to explain how I open our local Race environment.

First I doubleclick the Icon from my desktop:

After that the sign in window opens:

and than I am in the application.

So I don't open the application via the Explorer, as with Citrix, but via the icon of the desktop. How do I get to the address?
