Is there an “easy button” to move one site under another company within the same IFS instance? Or does that require a full blown data migration to move data from one company to another? How have other IFS customers resolved this situation?

If I understand you correctly you want move a created site to another company?

That isn’t possible. Because there should be a lot of transactions.

You need to create a new one.

@Cirrostratus a while back I worked for a customer in Croatia and they moved from HRK to EUR. Therefore they needed a new company but wanted to keep the site with all it’s data. This was not possible since as @Link confirmed there’s a lot financial transactions in the company created from the stock movements within the site.

What we did in that acse was:

  • created a new croatian company in EUR
  • create a new site
  • run a bunch of mig jobs to copy data from one site into the other - inv parts / prod struct / routings / workcenters / and do oin.

Hello @Marcel.Ausan ,

We have the same issue. Do you have any documentation about the different mig jobs you had to do ?

I’m trying to figure out a procedure in order to not miss any data to migrate.

Thanks in advance for your help 😊

Hi @Charles for that particular custoemr we migrated:

  • inventory parts
  • purchase parts / supplier for purchase part
  • sales parts
  • product structures
  • routings
  • workcenters
  • warehouse structure - inventory locations
  • linked existing customers/suppliers with the new company

For stock migration, we loaded everything to a transport task and executed the transport task and the stock was moved in the new site.
