Is anyone creating blanket purchase orders for long term equipment rentals or leases? Trying to avoid creating multiple PO’s for the same piece of equipment or increasing authorization limits to an amount that is well above level of authority for fleet managers. As an example, we could have a machine that cost $20,000/ month and plan to use it for 12 months. My preference would be that the PO would be written for $20,000, invoiced each month, and stay open for future months to allow for recurring charges. The way I understand the system today, is we would need to issue a PO for $240,000 to cover the entire term of the PO. If we need it for 13 months, then we would have to create another PO. We have well over 100 equipment PO’s so this can get messy if we have to write multiple PO’s for each unit.
