Hi

We are working in App9 SP11

I have a reported problem where we have project demand for a particular part. When we run Project MRP for the project activity, it creates requisitions for other demands on the same activity, but not for this one specific part.

I cannot see any issues with the part - it has the same config as for all the others.

Is there a log for Project MRP? The background job doesn’t provide enough information. I’m hoping that that there is a log somewhere that might give a clue why this particular part demand is not being processed.

Hi Paul,

Hmmm purchased part, planning method A. Looks good.

Let us first check out the assumption: “It does not even try to create a purchase requisition”

So, can you check:
Inventory Part Planning: The Order Proposal Release flag?

Inventory Part: The VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) flag. It should not be “checked in”

What about Inventory Part Status flag setting? - Anything suspicious here?

Hi @BABPAULS,

Try searching your part in the screen below. Check in the opened tab there. You might be able to get a hint.

Make sure the “MRP Run Date” is the same as the date when you ran PMRP.

Thanks for this Tharindu. I wasn’t aware of this screen so will investigate

Hi,

Just to fill in what Tharindu mention.

  1. Do you see the part and the specific activity in the header portion?
  2. Do you have a message like “Not Buildable” in Action Proposals tab?
  3. Or any other suspicious message
  4. Do you see any demand or supply in Gross Requirements tab?

Actually this page is very useful to study MRP/PMRP results, and also when you want an “explanation” how MRP engine came up with its supply plan, this is useful. The data you see here is a snapshot of when PMRP/MRP was running. So it is not a live view as Inventory Part Availability Planning (IPAP)

Good Luck

Mats at RnD

Hi Mats

The message I see is ‘Need Orders’ and I can also see two lines in the Gross Requirements tab, one for the demand and the other for the supply, but without any order ref….

Hi Mats

You found the needle 😁 -  Inventory Part: The VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) flag. It should not be “checked in”. It was checked and when unchecked, the PMRP process completed as expected .

Thanks very much for your help on this one - it was driving me mad 😂

A final comment, you would have the same problem in MRP, not only in PMRP I mean. Really good that we could hunt down this problem.

Have a nice day!
