Is there anyone who have experience from product structure with connection to supplier and for what kind of processes and scenarios it’s used? We have scenario to solve where certain products we need to use component from defined supplier, same code is used for other products. Is it possible by connecting supplier to bom?

Product Structure - Connection to supplier & remote warehouse

We have a separate warehouse in the warehouse structure called FIN (finishing) that is used for all material that is housed outside the facility at a supplier. We have Supplier A drop ship material to Supplier B for additional work or finishing. You could do something similar where you have a specific location that is used only for material that comes from a certain supplier (our supplier IDs are 5 digit, so we make the Location No the same 5 digit supplier ID for visual connection). Then on the Product Structure, update the fields on the Product Structure to connect the material line to the Issue From Location. You can also use the Connected Supplier field (we don’t in our application).
The key then is to keep the location replenished through some form of Order Point or Kanban so that the location always has available material that is to be used only for this process.
