We have turnkey finished good items that are MS items with MS Demand since they are directly forecasted.  The issue is when these items are purchased, they do not get action messages like MRP items do - MRP Action Proposals.

For example - we will order the MS item based off demand.  When the demand changes and the delivery date may need to be advanced, pushed out or if there is no more demand it would need to be canceled, we do not see these messages.

We see Early Order, Late Order or Remove order in MRP Action Proposals and would like to see the same messages for MS items.  Maybe there is a different way to set up these items so they are not MS and we can forecast them and see the MRP Action Proposals?  We are in IFS Cloud

Hi @ztaayoung,

Did you check the below page after the MS run?

This shows the messages that are quire similar to the the MRP generated messages

The detailed descriptions about these messages could be found here.

https://docs.ifs.com/ifsclouddocs/24r1//default.htm?searchpage=page/MsActionProposals/List

I believe you can still keep your parts are MS handled parts and refer to this place to get the messages you are expecting to see.

Hi @Tharindu Illangasinghe  Thank you for your response.  Yes, I have looked into the MS Action Proposals, however these messages do not give me what I am looking for.  When I have MS items on a purchase order I need to have specifically the same messages telling me if an item has a message of Early Order, Late Order or Remove order, along with the MRP Due Date like in MRP Action Proposals.  Does a forecasted item have to be a master schedule item?

Hi @ztaayoung,

If you wish MRP to plan for the MS parts then you need to use the below value in the setting. This means MS proposals do not create supplies. For actual demands of MS-handled parts, supplies will be generated by MRP/PMRP.

As a result, when you run the MRP it will plan for this part, and yes the messages too will be there.

However, I suggest you to re-look at your planning and make this decision. In this change, just to get the MRP Messages you are making a change in the planning method (MRP over MS) applicable to this part.

@Tharindu Illangasinghe - I have tried this adjustment as well.  When I make the adjustment to the Create S/P Req field to set it as Create S/P from MRP then all my demand disappears from the IPAP screen.  It leaves only the Purchase Orders which MRP Action Proposals tells me to Remove Orders since it shows no demand.  One difference I see from your screenshot is that we forecast by Customer and your screenshot shows Forecast By Part - I do not believe this would impact what we are looking at though.  I am not sure what other settings on the MS Level 1 Part you have that I may not have which is causing the demand to disappear.
