Rental Demand is added from Project activity and Intersite flow is used to deliver the rental tool, to a remote warehouse.

We need to return the part after rental period. Since part is now in offshore remote warehoouse, we need to  return this part back to onshore main warehouse and then to the original toolpool site that the tool repository exist.

How can we use shipment orders in this flow to handle return.

I can see only supplier shipment option is available. so there is no way to create shipment orders.

If I create a shipment order manually, there is no way to reserve the same rental tool which I have rent IN using the project activity.

Please provide a way how can I do the return and ship to onshore location from offshore..

The text I can see in hep is only this :Rental returns are initiated from Manage Rentals. Once a rental a return is initiated, a supplier shipment will be created. On the supplier shipment the parts can be reserved, picked and delivered. The rental period can be ended automatically when delivering the supplier shipment by defining a rental end date and time on the shipment line.:

In this flow, Im using 2 sites.

1- MOR - main warehouse

2- RE- Rentaltool pool site

Remotewarehouse is EQ which is site MOR which is called as offshore

Any suggestion or workaround to use shipments? I cannot see available parts to reserve if I create a shipment order manually. so no way to proceed with shipment orders.

Hi @indmlk ,

Can’t we handle through a Return Material Authorization?

Thank you & Kind regards,

Hi @KrishanthaRutterKey

thank you for your reply. But once that supplier shipment is created I cannot see the part is back at toolpool site where the original location of the stored tools. We use interstate flow here between main site and the site where tools are stored called tool pool site.

any additional steps to do to move to the original location?

@indmlk Can you review again RMAs as Krishantha has suggested? Cannot see the relevance of a supplier shipments?
Initiate the RMA from the CO line which you used to deliver the rental asset. Utilize the return supplier, return sites fields to reflect your remote warehouse.

Hi @Vimukthi Mahakumbura @KrishanthaRutterKey

Do you suggest to use both supplier return and RMA?

@indmlk do you intend to record the transactions of both sides - owner (lessor) and renter (lessee)? Is that the reason you also mention supplier returns? If so, is there a PO, on a third site?

Hi @Vimukthi Mahakumbura  . Thanks for your replies...Here is my flow.

Now I have decided to use Return steps as follows and it worked.

Return the Rental Tool back to Tool pool after rental period

Create Supplier Return
Process Supplier Shipment until Delivered
Create Customer Return
Process Return Material Authorization (RMA)
Receive RMA to Toolpool site
