Issue:

  • The 'Part No' LoV in the 'Serial To Place' section of the 'Place Serial in Equipment Structure' window displays parts other than those issued for the specific work task.

Steps to re-create the issue:

  • Go to ‘Prepare Work Order’ window and create a work order and work task.
  • Select work task and go the Details.
  • Add a ‘Material’ line to the work task. Please note that we should add a ‘serial part’.
  • Select the material line and click ‘Issue Manually’.
  • Select relevant ‘Serial No’ to issue.
  • Select ‘Execute Work Task’.
  • Select ‘Place Serial in Equipment Structure’.
  • You can notice that the 'Part No' LoV in the 'Serial To Place' section of the 'Place Serial in Equipment Structure' window displays parts other than those issued for the specific work task.

Hi @Ishara,

As per my understanding from “Place Serial in Equipment Structure” command, it is possible to place serials that is in the status “Issued” and it need not to be specifically issued from the specific work task/work order. (This allows the capability to place serials that are manually issued in addition to the serials that were specifically issued for the work task)

Hi @Asitha Rajapaksha

I don’t agree with you. If you have manually issued a serial part the end-users uses incorrect work flow. I think they should do “Redo do right”

If you are using the Maintenance material requisition the part will get the correct postings etc and you will automatically gives the serial parts that you can place into correct structure.

With the work flow today, it is easy to place an incorrect serial part to the structure and it is more work to move the serial part to the correct structure.

The repair work flow and serial parts is not easy for the end-users today and if you than can choose a random serial part to place in structure. If you belived that you have picked the correct serial part.
