How do you attach a document, such as an engineering drawing, to a material or an object for future reference?

Using IFS10

Thanks

Hi,

First you need to get the Logic unit (lu), package, view details related to the object that you need to attach documents (material form / object form etc).

Then open Object connections window.

Create new record (if there is a record already available for the same lu, you can modify that record)

You can enter the needed service in the service list. For example if it is documents, then it should be entered as DocReferenceObject^.

Save the record and refresh cache. Then open the object form again (open a new form). (If not you can log off and log in again)

Now the “Document” option is available in the attachment panel.

Select the record /object you need to add documents and attach it using New or Attach (existing documents) buttons.

Please check whether this helps.

Hi @Thilini Kumarasinghe,

Thank you for the reply, that all makes sense, it sounds like I need IT to load the access to that into my profile.

Does this work the same way for a catalogued inventory item aswell?

Thanks

Hi @Cory

You are most welcome.

That’s right, you need access to setup all these (end user access will not be sufficient).

The setup is valid for any item. Only thing is you need to get the correct logical unit, view and package.

This is applicable to IFS Cloud / Aurena as well, in case someone wonders 🙂
