Hi,we are running IFSAPP10 on a Oracle 19c Enterprise Edition Database, using Oracle PDB concept.There, we ran into severe issues while people just have been trying to populate one single Customer Order. While observing the database sessions, we noticed that the query has been parallelized, divided into several sessions. Strangely, these sessions sometimes have been blocking each other. As a summary, instead of improving the performance with parallelism, it caused a severe performance drop.To solve it, we switched off parallel query mechanism by setting Oracle parameter “parallel_max_servers” to 1 (was 400).Is there a recommendation from IFS how these parameters “parallel_max_servers” and “parallel_min_servers” should be set? Or, more generally spoken, how parallel query feature should be set up together with IFS Applications?Please also share your experience with Oracle parallel query mechanism, and with which settings it runs best for you. We are going to be running App10 in a few months on Windows 2012 server. We currently run App8 SP1+ and have with the following VMWare virtual server specs: RAM: 32GB O/S: 64-bit (Windows 2012 R2 Standard) CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2680 v2 @ 2.80GHz 2.80 GHz (8 virtual processors) We worked with IFS in completing the Upgrade Kit Infrastructure Sizing Questionaire and provided the above specs. I have read posts that indicate App10 uses a lot more memory. The client we work with is trying to save costs by downsizing the RAM and CPUs on VMWare virtual machines. I don’t think we should be messing with this, but I don’t have anything definitive to argue the point. Any feedback from other App10 admins/users would be appreciated.

Can IFS send automatically e-mail reminders to customers when payments are late, rather than manually create and send those?
IFS9, in the process of upgrading to IFS10. We have used Report Designer to adjust the layout of instant invoices sent to our customers. The document footer for the instant invoice has been defined in the window Document Footer and connected to the report INSTANT_INVOICE_REP, which works just fine. Now, we need to have different invoice footers for different customers (sent from the same company). We have defined additional fields and additional Footers in the window Document Footer, which meet our requirements. However, we can’t find a way of selecting a different footer when creating the instant invoice.We have tried the following:In Document Footer, connect the report id INSTANT_INVOICE_REP to two different footers (two lines in the tab Connect Report). We have a need to send purchase orders to multiple people at the supplier (procurement and quality group for example). How do we do this with an Event? We have the same issue with Customer Invoices needing to go to Customers (Procurement, Quality and Finance). If we have one, we would be able to figure out the other.
Hi,We are on Apps 9 - looking for a way to log users out of the system and then lock them out. Except for a limited number of Senior Finance users. We have an Release to apply so do not want any accidental transactions occurring.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how we can track who and when lobbies are being used in apps 10? Or course we can create an API with a get-function that updates a history table when called, but I wonder if anyone came up with something more elegant or had a discussion with IFS on this? One of the recent updates enables this for quick reports and this is a great tool which can help us identify which reports are important and which could be phased out (we have 2000 reports build over many years).
Can anyone share your views on implementing the solution of including logo in an email signature triggered from IFS? I am planning currently to achieve this with the use of html <img src> tag in plsql code and give the file system path of the image and the solution is working with an example code below, For the above solution, I need to change the content type of the mail sender to text/html from text/plain. Also, as per outlook default settings html embedded images are not getting downloaded automatically and user has to download it manually by doing right click to see in the signature and again this settings in outlook needs to be changed. Is there any other better or standard IFS way to achieve this?
IFS customers used to print labels (using rdl layouts) in Zebra printer ( ZDesigner S4M-203dpi) via IFS APP 8 using direct printing which mapped to the local client. But when he migrated to App 10 environment he is unable to follow the same way how he did in the APP 8 environment as the printout not coming out from the Printer although the label printing job successfully queued to the local printer queue. Any major changes in direct printing architecture from App 8 to App 10?
We are using document classes to categorize files that can be attached to several different LU’s. If there a standard functionality configuration where you can control what document classes can be used for certain screens/LU’s? We run into problems when a user attaches a file using a document class that should not be used for that screen. Example: We might have customer order whereby a user will add a document classified under “Supplier Contract”. We would never want this added to a customer order. Other than creating some kind of event action, is there standard functionality that can control this? We are on IFS Version 9, Update 8. Thanks!
Hi all, We recently implemented IFS Apps 10 beginning of december for our first business unit. I was - together with a collegae - responsible for data migration. As a data warehouse builder I am wondering how we can access the data for other purposes, like reporting. On premise we have a SQL server BI stack. Is it possible for me to access data from the Information Sources? Or is this only possible from the Enterprise Explorer and/or the EOI? Kind regards, Jeroen

Hi We currently run IFS V.9. Can anyone tell me the actual date that this goes end of life please / out of support. Also, is there a date for when V.10 also goes EOL please? Trying to decide whether to migrate to V.10 and how long we would be on it before needing to migrate to IFS cloud.Many thanks, David
We are using IFSv9. Our users run lots of different reports including System Reports, Quick Reports derived from both SQL and Crystal..etc. When users OUTPUT the data from the reports they have always chosen one of the Excel options and produced an Excel file download. Now some of the users always get a CSV file irrespective of which option they choose. This is causing a lot of confusion because they look for output files from Excel and don’t find them, not unless they select to open ALL FILES. This is the case irrespective of the number of records output - some users only get CSV as a default output option even when they are outputting 10 records and have select output to Excel. It seems to work OK for some users but not all. Most of our users are now on Windows 10 although a few are still on Win7 but the issue seems to exist irrespective of Windows version. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue please?
We are implementing Apps 10 and I’m trying to get barcode labels to print using the Script plugin. I’ve created a RPL file, added the layout to the ‘Handling Unit Content Label’ report. I can use Order Report to request the label and it will say it’s completed Where I think I’m getting stuck is how do you map the Logical Printer to the physical printer in this case? I’ve been through the F1 Technical Docs a number of times and to me it’s not clearly spelled out how this happens. Also this is in a IFS hosted cloud installation if that makes a difference.

When we find quality issues on parts after they have been inspected and put in stock, how do we cancel the receipt in order to register a new inspection with rejected quantities? We have heard that we have to put the parts back to the arrival location to be able to cancel the receipt, but we cannot move inventory stock to the arrival location again. (not possible to select the arrival location as destination. Or when changing a transport task we can select the arrival location as destination but it is not possible to save since there is no PO reference and we cannot add it manually. We want to achieve:Correct PPM data/quality statistics Ability to send parts back to supplier or scrap Please help us find an approach to this problem.

When printing Customer_Order_IVC_RPI (Report Invoice) an Oracle Error 06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small in report method [CUSTOMER_ORDER_IVC_RPI.Report Invoice] is generated. The error occurs on only certain customers and for other customers there is no error. How can I track down the offending statement? I have tried Debug without success. Can I enable an Oracle trace? Would an Oracle trace help and what are the steps for setting up an Oracle trace in IFS? Are there other options for determining the cause of the error?
