The problem sent by customer: “ When I open an image from IFS in Windows photo viewer and want to save it as a PDF but with that you can only see the edges of each page in the file (middle does not show).We have a colleague who uses Microsoft document image viewer (2010) where everything opens as normal, however, this is an outdated program and is no longer available for download.Changing the default .Tif viewer to Windows 10 “Photos” app also does not work as only the first page in the .Tif files is shown, even though the file contains several pages. Which program is recommended for use in opening .Tif files in IFS? “
Am trying to create an approval routing for customer payment off sets where we usually perform write offs (Part of outstanding customer balance or all).I have created the object connection, and set the approval template up itself, but I cant seem to be able to apply the routing. Is there any limitiations with this funcitonality that doesnt allow approval routings to be used?? The options appear, but i cant select which template i want to use. Or even attach a documentHere is the object connection setup
We have a generic Person ID that is used at our company, which when used signifies that everyone at the company has access to viewing the document. This generic Person ID is an asterisk (*). When this is listed in the Person ID, there is no security to prevent anyone from viewing the document.I have three questions:1- Is there a way to deny viewing access to a user even when the asterisk is used in the Person ID field? 2- How can I control who belongs to this group signified by the asterisk?3- If the two questions above are impossible, would it be possible to create a warning pop up window event that will prevent specific users from accessing certain classes of documents, and in the moment when the user clicks to view an event it will reject the access? I know how to create pop up warning windows but in using an event, but in this case nothing could fire the event. Any idea or example? Screenshots would be helpful or a tutorial document.
Hello, We’re running the IFS Change Document Repository process in IFS Apps 9. In the ‘Move from Repository’ dropdown, it shows only those repositories that have status set to Usable. Similarly, in the ‘Move to Repository’ dropdown, it shows only those repositories that have status set to Generating. What is the meaning of a Usable vs a Generating repository?
Hi All,I am recently involved to setup some 21R1 configuration in various environments. When setting up I encountered various issues such as not knowing which projections to be granted in order to external clients to work, most of them are IAM clients. Which projections to be granted, information was passed by the Product Development teams which helped us. But is there a way to exactly know which projection should be granted so that the external clients would work. e.g. AdvancedPlanningBoard, MaintenancePlanningBoardIntegration I think in Aurena client we can search by Projections by Navigator so inside the client if something isn’t working, we probably can grant these projections to a specific permission set so the purpose is achieved.
Hi All,I need some assistance from the wider audience, to figure out a way in Aurena to connect documents to line level items.Background - Apps 10 upd 9 (going on to 11 pretty soon), 100% Aurena usage intended , as still in implementation stage some tasks are done in IFS EE.What configurations are required to enable line level document attachments in Aurena? (ex: Purchase Requisition Line)Currently the settings are as follows;How do we attach a document on line level in Aurena ?( ex.Purchase Requisition Lines). When a document is attached while the PR line is select, the document still gets attached to the Purchase Requisition Header section. In IFS EE, we select the PR line that we need the document attached and a drag and drop to the document pane does the job. I can’t find a way to do this in Aurena. When uploading one or multiple documents with specified document class, can system automatically place these documents into a document folder without manually specifying which folder? This means that document folder has been setup to be mapped to a document class. Can a user or user group be given access to a Document Folder instead of by Document Class? If yes, once the user logs in, can the user only see the document folder where user has access to? Can a person/person group see/filter only the document class that user has access to? Is there a self-service portal for users - with a lobby where they can see only documents, document classes and document folder that user has at least view access? Is it possible to see how many/what document views/downloads a user has done? Is it possible to define the validity of user access to a document class/folder by person group instead of by person? Once selecting a GIS object and trying to connect it to an IFS object, the hereunder message fires. Seems my proxy definition is wrong, but I’m a bit lost amongst the different possibilities offered by documentation and what the integration tries to do in such a case as no IFS object is selected at that moment. Hi, Have found an issue where the object key is different if we do the connection from the “object” page or from the Document Revision page. ExampleGo to page Part Revision and attach a document. Go to the Docuement Revision page and look at the Object Key for your newly created document. object key (CONTRACT=WL^ENG_CHG_LEVEL=1^PART_NO=ABC^) Delete the connection and instead add it manually from Document Revision Page. Select Object LU PartRevision Find your part using FIND in Object Key and save Object Key: (CONTRACT=WL^PART_NO=ABC^ENG_CHG_LEVEL=1^)You see that PART_NO and ENG_CHG_LEVEL have switched place?Causing some issues in report development. @Mathias Dahl do you know the reason for this?

I have a question that >>>> When an attachment (document object) in current LU (LU-2) is inherited (sourced) from another LU (LU-1) through an Object Connection Transformation, the attachment in the LU-2 does not appear in a new LU (LU-3) when the OCT has been configured for LU-2 and LU-3. The attachments originally attached to the LU-2 is successfully transferred to LU-3. Is this how the functionality works (limitation ?) ? Actually, the requirement is to transfer the attachments in the ShopOrderOperation LU (for outside operations where a purchase order is connected) to PurchaseOrderLinePart LU. For that, there is an in-built (system-defined) OCT. It works for attachments attached to the ShopOrderOperation LU itself. But, there are attachments inherited from other OCTs (from InventoryPart, EngPartRevision, etc), and these are not transferring to the PO line with that OCT setup. Hello,I hope somebody out there has experience moving documents from the database to an FTP Server.We are on IFS 9. In my screenshots below I have a document class in the database called APPE and I want to move the documents associated to this document class to an FTP server.I have created two repositories in the EDM Basic>Repositories windows. One line to indicate that APPE_R1 has the doc class that I want to move and another repository line APPE_R2 to accommodate the transfer of documents to the FTP repository.Then I have used the Change Document Repository Wizard and the first step makes sense as shown in screenshot below however then I am presented with a second page where it seems to be I have to allocate a document class again? I am confused about this screen, furthermore the Doc Class field does not offer a list of values.I hope somebody can give us a word of advise on this matter.Many thanksMiguel
Hi,I have connected an object to a document for Engineering Part Structure in the Objects tab on a document revision. But I cannot see the document on the Engineering Part structure itself. Is there another step that needs to be taken in order for this to appear on the Engineering Part Structure?Also, where is the set up to add items to the connect object list that appears on the document revision itself?
How to pass values of target key reference to my custom method as parameter.
I am looking at how Comment Functionality works for different File types as Redline? currently I have defined “doc” as view and “docx” as Redline type and expect to open comment with MS Word. however I still manually change the Redline copy from “Doc” to “Docx”. The errorI get is “Can not start external Viewer application”. This is just one example, I am trying to find out how Redline app works for each individual file type. for example for a word file,Excel or Autocad? Thanks, Aida.
Hi, I was able to create my first connection object and I had to create my own transformation method, following guidelines found in OpenIFS forum. When I tested it (with the Test transformation option ) , I got a successful status. But it does not work on the target LU. What is the best way to debug this problem ? Haven’t found anything in the Debug console. Thanks Michael

It is possible to create an external link to an engineering part, e.g. https://<landing_page_url>/client/runtime/Ifs.Fnd.Explorer.application?url=ifsapf%3AfrmEngineeringPart%3Faction%3Dget%26key1%3D12345678%255E1.0%26COMPANY%3D1 That link will open the Engineering Part Navigator with the selected part (12345678) with the specified engineering revision (1.0). My question: Is it possible to create a link to a selected Engineering Part at the latest revision? And maybe also to the latest released revision? For documents it is possible, but what about engineering parts?
Hi All We applied Update 15 and 16 to our Live APPS v9 environment this past weekend. Our users have reported that when they attempt to attach a Document (in this case a PDF, but does the same for all) to a Customer Order (and possibly other records), they receive the following error: This was not the case before applying the latest updates. Checking the defined extensions, all looks fine: Has anyone else seen this issue after applying the recent updates? The issue is also in out Test instance, but we clearly missed this one from our testing! Regards Mike
