Between application 7.5 (or 8?! I am not sure...) and 9 I have seen a difference regarding object transformation. In the old release of IFS application an entry was made in the object connection list if a document was passed on from a source LU to a taget LU. Now it seems to be only displayed online. Can someone explain the benefit?
Hello, I have made an event that throws an error message to the user, using the error_sys.record_general function, based on some criteria set in the event, which triggers on a change in the status of the object. error_sys.record_general( 'SomeLogicUnit', 'SOMEERRORMSG: this is an error message'); I am in the process of creating another event that will change the status of the object, but I am wondering if it is possible to catch the exception raised in the other event, and handle it separately? Without handling the event, and running the event manually in a DBMS, the procedure completes, but returns ORA-20110: SomeLogicUnit.SOMEERRORMSG: this is an error message My event would look something like this: BEGIN --change status on object, which may cause an error to be raised in the other eventEXCEPTION WHEN ... THEN -- handle the exception raised from the other eventEND; If I specify “EXCEPTION WHEN others THEN … “ I will catch the error raised in the other event, but I won’t know t
I would like to perform an action in one custom menu and then move to another window.A simple but not user-friendly solution is to create two custom menus:First: action type: “PL / SQL Block” - execute code (create a new row in the table), Second: action type: “Create window with transfer” - go to window. Is it possible to switch to another window in the “PL / SQL block” (run procedure / function)?
We are on App8 SP1+. We have some documents that require special handling if they are printed out. I can indicate which documents require this using a field on the document revision. These documents can be Word, Excel or pdf. Ideally I would like to have a cover page printed automatically anytime someone prints one of these documents. The cover page would always be the same. As an example it might say “Confidential Do Not Distribute”. Any ideas on how to accomplish this or other suggestions to accomplish something similar.Phil
