Procurement of packing materials

Hi, I have created a Packing Instruction in terms of Pallets and Cartons that can automatically create a packing structure to ship a variable large qty of a part. The way it can create the packing structure is really neat. But does anyone know if there is a way for IFS to automatically procure the Pallets and Cartons (and any other packing materials) that would be needed for a Shipment. There doesn't seem to be a way of defining what’s needed in terms of Inventory Parts that would get picked up as a Demand in the system. I would like these to be ordered as and when required, in advance, so the packing structure for the Shipment could be created and the Pallets/Cartons ordered prior to actually packing the Parts. Unless I’m missing something it appears as if the actual packing materials are always assumed to be on hand in the warehouse. But I can’t believe that’s the case, knowing the capability of IFS. Remove Handling Units when using receive dispatch advice

Hey guys, does anyone know a smart and automatic way to unattach parts from HUs when receiving a PO via dispatch advice? We have huge EDI shipments which will be received automatically via the Receive_Dispatch_Advice___ functionality, but as far as i have seen in the system and in the code it will only not consider HUs if you receive it to default location. I don’t think there is a setting to ignore HUs when receiving, but would be glad to be proofen wrong here. Does anyone have any experience with this or some good ideas/workarounds? Thanks, Johannes

MRP 'Original Due' and 'Planned Due'

Hi guys, In ‘Shop Order Requisitions’, there are two columns called ‘Original Due’ and ‘Planned Due’. This determine the ‘Need Dates’ for the works orders that are raised by accepting the requisitions in question. In turn, dictating to APB (our CBS engine) what to prioritize when a trade-off is required given resource limitations. How can those dates be changed? Namely, for SST items under planning method B/C. For demand released by a customer or projects that would involve editing the required date, performing MRP and alignment via MRP Action Proposals. How can we change the Orig. and PLD Due dates for SST items so they are called for now. thanks, jay

In IFS 75 version Reference_sys package during refresh active list has validation that CASCADE option is only valid for P - primary key. Since IFS 8 version there is no that validation. I want to ask whether CASCADE option for A - attribute column or K - key are proper AQS behaviour? It make sens to use it? We have investigated that at the Document Revisions screen there is the possibility to assign a copy Approval template to the relevant document. Output Team Absence Requests to Outlook

Hi everyone, Is there a way to setup IFS to update update an Outlook calendar with Absence Requests? For example a supervisor could see all absence requests from his team/supervised employees directly on his Outlook Calendar vs having to go to IFS and view each employee’s Absence calendar for a month. Does IFS 10 (Aurena) provide Out the box functionality to receive documents (.pdf) from an external source via web service? looking at the list of BizApi’s available i can not see any related to receiving inbound documents, if there is can anybody point me to the correct service / documentation. Eforms to stay on mobile work order till work order returned

We have a requirement for a customer for which we would like to use eforms as digital forms to replace site appraisal forms. What we would like to achieve is that the technician completes a site appraisal in an eform and that the eform after completion stays on the mobile device. This is so that other technicians can see what has been completed in the eform during the execution of the work. Does anyone know if this is possible?

AP Invoice Matching

Hello everyone. We scan our invoices using FastAP and feed it into IFS. If we create a receiving document in IFS before the invoice is entered into IFS the system will automatically match it. If we enter the invoice into IFS before a receiving document is created we have to manually match the two. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? Does anyone have a solution to this issue? New Lobby Element Not Appearing on Lobby Page

I am editing an existing Lobby we created and added a Description element. It’s on the page but when I view the Lobby Page in another session as a User, it doesn’t appear. If I then leave the Lobby Element Designer and reenter my Element is gone. How do I “save it” so it shows to the user? (plus I get an error- perhaps that’s why it doesn’t show?)

Combination Search in Aurena

Hi all, I would like to have some guidance over the development approach for the following layout in Aurena. I need to populate the details table on the basis of manually entering part no(s) . User may fill any of four part no. and check-uncheck checkboxes in header and then click on search. After clicking on search , these values should go only in where clause of detail table (as the part no. in header is not directly linked with detail table below) Do we have any such screen already available in Aurena? Apps 9 UD15 link between Purchase No Part Order Line and Project Delivery Address

Hi Community, In a similar manner to the question relating to Apps 10 Purchase Order and Project linkage, in Apps 9 Update 15, the No Part Order Line entry has the Delivery Address as a mandatory field. What would be the process to enable removal of the line delivery address? The rationale for this is that we have the head office site and the specific delivery location is at a different site, and the application of two different addresses is confusing to Suppliers. Before UD15 we were able to remove the line delivery address without error. Are we simply restricted to the process of changing the line or header delivery addresses to match? Any and all thoughts/guidance will be appreciated. Kind regards

Document Attachment function by batch processing

We would like to realize the Document Attachment function by batch processing (PL/SQL) in IFS 10. Could you tell me how to implement it? We're considering that IFS receive image files from an external system, execute the Document Attachment function in batch processing, and keep links with datas stored in any remote server, not the database. Which IFS Integration API's use / do not use Primavera API's

We used to use the IFS Integration module but stopped when we could not agree licensing for Integration or OPG with Oracle i.e. it was going to be too expensive for us. We are currently looking at writing a custom interface (probably using APEX) but need to avoid the Oracle Primavera API's. Rather than writing everything from scratch have you information on the IFS Integration API's : What can we / cannot use by way of the API's, which ones call Primavera API's and which ones wholly use IFS code OR do you call some Primavera API's from within your code, if so what do we need to avoid? I thought we might be able to call some of your code from say APEX to create a custom integration instead of starting from scratch. Any information you can provide would be gratefully received. I hope I have explained the issue sufficiently."

Apps10 environment totally locked up?

Has anyone else ever had Apps10 (UPD5 in our case) completely lock up and require stop and restart of the server services using mws-svr? In the most recent instance last week, after a successful STOP using mws-svr, the entire VM actually locked up during the START and required a ‘hard’ reboot from the VM console. No errors were seen in the logs at all; they just have no entries from after the time of the freeze showing a happy system doing normal processing until then. Unfortunately after the VM rebooted we had some file corruption and missing files that required a recovery from backup. I can’t tell for sure if the files were damaged or missing before the stop/start or if that happened from the forced VM reboot. So: Are we the only ones seeing anything like this? Has anyone else experienced issues with IFS Applications Server just stopping, or with files becoming corrupted or missing during normal operation? Thanks, Nick

Hi IFS Community, I am trying learn on IFS Application functionality on Budgeting. I see that budget can be maintained in two ways :Budget Process & Budget Version. And also Budget Version can be updated from Budget Process. I am not clear about the practical usage of this. Project managers and expense sheets of their projects

The access to expense sheets is controlled by “Position – Access Setup” in IFS. This way, a project manager will be able or not to visualize the expense sheets connected to his/her project depending on the position of the employees. Customer would like that a project manager could have access to all the expense sheets that belonged to his/her own project. The only way knows to achieve this target is enabling all the project managers the access to all the positions. But, if define this way, all the project managers could be able to visualize every expense sheet of any employee in any project, even if they had not access to the project. Customer have tried to define a new “access attribute” adding as a column name a custom field, but it is not included in the value list. Also have tried to define as the “old value” in the “access attribute” a select sentence, but it is considered as an invalid value when try to save it.cannot use an event either because all want is to visualize, not to m

APPS 10 UPD3 to UPD7 UPGRADE

Hi, We are upgarding APPS10-UPD3 to UPD7. When we are deploying it from Installer it is working fine without any issue and and no invalid objects. Its successful. But when we are deploying it manually using install.tem, there are issue and the upgrade is failing. Is there any more scripts we need to execute before the install.tem?
