Hyperlink in Document Revision

Customer (Apps10 EE) wants to create a document revision without a file and in a field on the document revision enter a link to an external location where the file will reside. I recall doing this before custom fields were readily available, but I cannot recall where in the document revision the link was entered. Anybody have experience with this without using a custom field?

How is rounding precision determined in Customer Sales Quantity?

Apps10 UPD12For a customer order line for which the Sales UoM = kg and the Customer ‘s UoM = lb, what controls the number of decimal places displayed for the Customer Sales Qty? In the order lines below, why is the Customer Sales Qty showing up to 25 decimal places? Is there any way possible to limit this to 1 decimal place?The Qty Calc Rounding for the inventory part connected to the sales part = 1.In the Sales Part Cross Reference, the Sales UoM = kg, the Conv Factor = 0.45359, the Invert Conv Factor = 1, and the Customer’s UoM = lb.

Operation Block Sequencing Logic

When scheduling a block of shop order operations in sequence, what logic is used to determine the sequence in which the operations are scheduled? Is the final sequence based on prioritization by Order Need Date, Operation Finish Date, Remaining Resource Hours, something else?

Weighted Average Inventory Value updated due to new receipt

Apps10 Upd11.Weighted Average, Cost per Part.I have (1) of part A in stock, inventory value = $1000.I receive (1) of part A into stock, actual cost = $2000.I now have (2) of part A in stock, inventory value = $1500/unit, total of $3000.When the inventory unit value changed from $1000 to $1500, is this revaluation ‘event’ visible anywhere, is there any history of this for someone to see? Or is this just behind the scenes and no record of it is stored?

Cloud DocMan without Aurena Agent

New to doing DocMan in a Cloud environment.What would a user be unable to perform with the Aurena Agent not installed, i.e. can most functionality (create, edit, check-in, view) be done without it?Asking as I am expecting a customer to not have the address info required for running the MSI installation, and unable to configure any User Settings.

Editable setting in Object Connection Transformations

I am looking for a better explanation of the settings for ‘Editable’ in Object Connection Transformations than what is provided in the F1 Help for Service Name = DocReferenceObject. Some examples would be beneficial also.Scenario: I have a Source LU ‘A’ and a Target LU ‘B’. Inventory Part Availability Planning to MRP Part Information page

Cloud 22.1.8In the navigator, the Inventory Part Availability Planning page is positioned under Supply Chain Planning > Part Planning.I find a part number in this page and select the MRP Part Information command button.This takes me to Supply Chain Planning > Part Planning > Inventory Part Availability Planning > MRP Part Information - Top Down. In this page, there is no Expand button in the record selector.When I navigate manually to MRP Part Information - Top Down, this follows the path Supply Chain Planning > Material Requirements Planning > MRP Part Information - Top Down > MRP Part Information - Top Down. In this page, there is an Expand button in the record selector. Why does the MRP Part Information command in the IPAP page not navigate to the MRP Part Information Page that allows use of the Expand button?

Shop Order Scrap of Serial Part and As-Built Structures #2

Looking for methods anyone has used to handle the following.Apps10 update8On a Shop Order I am manufacturing a serial-tracked, lot-tracked, multi-level tracked part through (4) operations 10, 20, 30, 40. Lot size = 5. Serial numbers 1-5 and Lot/Batch AAA have been reserved for this shop order.My Site is set to auto-build the tracked structures.All component material is issued, all of this material is serial and lot-tracked also. The Shop Order As-Built Structure is completed before I start production.At Operation 20 I want to scrap (1) part, and this part has been physically identified in the shop as Serial No. 1.After performing a Shop Order Scrap for a quantity of (1), I delete Serial No. 1 from the list of reserved serials, which alters the parent-child relations in the system-generated Shop Order As-Built structures for the remaining serial numbers. Note: I deleted Serial No. 1 from the list of reserved serials because during the Report Scrap process on the shop order, I cannot des

How are Shop Order Estimated Costs for Machine or Labor Calculated in Weighted Average?

Do not auto-build ahead of time? Wait until receipt to build them and alter them?

Combination of Outside Reserve/Backflush and Non-Shared Inbound Locations

Has anybody determined the situation in which one may want to set the Inbound Work Center location(s) as Not Allowed for outside reserve/backflush AND set the Inbound location(s) as Not Shared? Just trying to get a feel for how the combinations of thesetwo settings can work together.

Employee Labor Overhead Cost Incurred for Setup Time but not Run Time

Apps 10 Update 8 EE. Part is serialized and set to Cost per Serial. Site/Company is configured to use Employee Salary Information for the Labor Rate and the Labor Overhead is using the OH Rate (150%) defined on the Cost Source.One shop floor employee working on one operation on one shop order.When setup time is clocked via the SFWB, Labor Overhead cost is incurred. When run time is clocked via the SFWB, Labor Overhead cost is not incurred.Any quick ideas why no overhead is incurred on run time?

Project-Connected Shop Order and Planned Costs

It has been some time since I worked with project-connected shop orders, and I am not seeing what I think was always standard behavior.Cloud 22.2.1I created a shop order manually for part M1. This shop order did not originate as miscellaneous demand on a project activity.This shop order has one component and this component is not standard planned.Part M1 has costs in cost set 1 and is Weighted Average / Cost per Lot/Batch.I connected the shop order to a released project activity and the Planned Cost Driver is Connected Objects.I do not see any costs in the Planned Cost column.What setup might I be missing?

Cannot Over Report an Operation with Planned Scrap Quantity Reserved

How to Load Orders and Schedule in APB using Finite Capacity on Manufactured Components

There have been multiple posts in which the logic behind the Sched Capacity on the Inventory Part has been presented and what happens when Finite vs. Always Finite is used.This post is questioning how a user is supposed to load data into the APB when manufactured components are either Finite or Always Finite. Customer has the following product structure:P/N 100 P/N 200 (QPA = 30) P/N 200 is always manufactured in lot sizes of 8 and each shop order takes 1 day (8 hours) to process its lone operation.5-day work week M-F, 8-hour days, 8 AM - 4 PM no breaks.There are (4) shop orders for component p/n 200, and each is scheduled to end on Day1, Day2, Day3, and Day4 respectively. These have been APB Scheduled and saved to the database.I have multiple shop orders for p/n 100 that consist of only one operation.When loading and scheduling only the shop orders for p/n 100 If P/N 200 is set to Always Finite, APB does not schedule the orders for p/n 100. It is in Unscheduled status in APB, with the

Shop Order Specific Control Plan Tools

Apps10 Update 8When a Control Plan is associated with a Shop Order, I can add shop order-specific data points for situations like one-off testing that I do not want in the standard Control Plan. I can also add Tools in the Shop Order > Control Plan > Tools tab. I would like to connect these new Tools to the shop order-specific data points, but there is no method available.If I can add the tools, why am I not able to connect them to any data point? What does one gain by adding tools to a shop order control plan if they cannot be used?

Control Plan Manufacturing Analysis View Serial Numbers

Cloud 22.2.1I have an Analysis for a serial part for a variable type data point. I selected the serial numbers for the analysis. I entered the results for the serial numbers and completed and confirmed the analysis. In the header of the Analysis Result page, when I select ‘View Serial Numbers’ there are no serial numbers listed.Using ‘View Serial Numbers’ in Apps10 EE the assigned serials are still visible.Is this a bug or a new feature?

Work Center/Labor Class Capacity Calculation Default End Date

Apps10, UPD12.When manually performing ‘Calculate Work Center Resource Capacity’ or ‘Calculate Labor Capacity for Manufacturing’, the value for Calculation to Date defaults to 180 days from system date.Is it possible to change this default of 180 days?I know this can be established if I were to configure this as a scheduled task.

Partial Production Schedule Receipts and Handling Unit Structures

Apps10 Update15 AurenaIt appears that using a packing instruction consisting of more than one level with production schedules does not work the same with partial receipts as it does with shop orders. Each partial receipt against a production schedule creates a HU on the lowest level, as expected, but a new top level HU is also created for each receipt transaction.Example:Two-level packing instruction consists of (10) BOX1 on (1) PALLET1. I can pack a maximum of (2) part 123 in BOX1. I have a Production Schedule for (20) part 123. I report (8) complete. HU (2226) is created for PALLET1 with (2) HUs (2227, 2228) created for BOX1. All as expected. I then report (8) more complete. A second HU (2229) is created for PALLET1 with (2) new HUs (2230, 2231) created for BOX1.I expected the (2) new HU for the BOX1, but I did not expect the second HU for the PALLET1. I would expect some method to re-use the first HU of PALLET1, as with shop orders, but I have not found a way to do this.Is this ev

Short-Term CRP Capability Analysis

Apps10 UPD11 Aurena. I have a manufacturing Routing for part ZZ with one operation running through Work Center AA. I have all the lead times calculated, and I have run MRP and CRP. In Machine Load per Work Center, I see that there are two days next week for Work Center AA where I have a favorable Load % of only 30% and I want to know how much supply for ZZ I can createwithout overloading the Work Center. Without creating a shop order requisition with a Due Date that would have the operation run on those two days and then running CRP to see Requisitioned Load, or creating a planned Shop Order with the same information to see Planned Load, what method is available for a Planner to determine how many of ZZ could be manufactured on those two days to keep the Work Center loaded? There is simulation capability for material analysis, but what am I forgetting about simulation for short-term capacity analysis?
