We’re running Apps 10 Update 10 and after a Linux update to one of our dev instance Oracle database server, we’re getting the dread “Server Error” when trying to log into Aurena. The other 2 instances received the same back end patch to their Oracle db servers and are working fine. There is nothing definitive in any of the wls_domain/<instance>/servers logs and I’m not sure where else to look. According to the https://:port/admin middleware forms all the deployments are green. Any idea where else I can look for the cause of this error. This dev environment worked without issue before the db server upgrade and IEE works fine.

update, retroactivity for Base Profile

Hi,In the case f my customer, It was agreed to set up juste one Base Profile and have the possibility to use Personnel Profile by users.After starting, severel personalizations have been stored in the Base profile by administrator, and in the Personnel Profile by the users.The problem, when the customer decides the retroacvtivity on a personalization of Base Profile.Case: making a field non mandatory, initially this field was made mandatory in the Base Profil. When applying this Base profile again, the modification is not visible to some users, bacause they had made some personalizations on the same window, stored in the Personnel Profil, because by definition, and as standard, it is the Personal Profile that takes precedence (which have priority). Have you any solutions for this case? than you in advance for your help.Ouahiba

Aurena access from the web

we are looking at accessing Aurena from the internet rather then using VPN. The documentation refers to a reverse proxy but we are currently using a port forwarding rule within our firewall to access our Touch Apps server. Does anyone have any Pros and Cons regarding both methods? Also, exposing port 48080 to access Aurena, is there a way to change the port to the admin portal so it isn’t accessible from the web ( /admin ). thanks,Steven

Hi All,Is there a report in IFS to check the Weighted Average Cost and the Invoice Price of parts.This is mainly due to using of “Ignore Invoice Price” for Supplier Invoice Consideration for Inventory Parts, due to a performance issue in using other two options.Thanks

External supplier invoices uploading error -Apps 8

When I tried to upload supplier invoices via external file template (STDSIN1) using external file assistant in App 8 , I got a transfer error mentioned that control rule not satisfied . Kindly advice me to fix the issue. Thanks in advance.

Resource allocation against a demand on Project Activity

HiYou can enter resource demand (planned hours) in the Project Navigator, however limited to linear spreading between activity start/finish date. More sophisticated spreading options exists if you enter the hours in Project Resource Forecast and then “transfer to planning” (to Project Navigator). Note that the spreading, e.g. frontloaded, remains in Project Navigator, i.e. until you might change it there.Thus, what I would like to understand is whether it is possible to allocate employees towards a spread demand, e.g. frontloaded, and spread the allocation similarly to the demand, or if I am “stuck” with an option to only have linearly spread allocation within the allocation period.I do realize that there are challenges/prerequisites for spreading allocation equal to demand, e.g. if you chose to allocate in only a subset of the demand period because how then would you spread. Changing Inventory Locations

New to IFS. What’s the best way to update a Bin Location of an inventory item?I’ve been shown how to do it in “Move Inventory Part” but then when we do a search for the item it shows up as two locations?Is there a way to update the locations so only the current location shows up when searching?Thanks

Voucher row number vs Invoice Item

Has anyone attempted to join the gen_led_voucher_row to the actual invoice_items where the Sales Parts reside ? The requirement is to be able to view which GL row has been created by which invoice item row. I can’t find a direct link so it seems we have to go via inv_accounting_row by invoice_id and then to find the rows in invoice_item but then we fail to get a 1-to-1

Composite VAT on Sales

HiI’d be interested to hear how anyone has handled Composite VAT / Tax rates on sales?For example: A Package Part with multiple components each with different Tax Codes and Rates. Or you have a sales part that contains several components with different rates. When you raise the invoice the Invoice, the tax amount needs to be the ‘weighted average’ tax amount of the individual components, but you show only a single line. Thanks

MacOS users cannot report time

MacOS users cannot report time. We have to use a spreadsheet and manually input in IFS.Is there any workaround or solution that time registration for MacOS users so that they can fulfill and we can load in IFS avoiding the input work?

Use of remote warehouse and transport tasks

Hello,We have a scenario where we need to transfer some of our inventory to be held in long term storage using a third party storage facility. We would then transfer some of that stock back to our location on an annual basis, based on forecasted demand. We will still own the material, and we want to be able to see the quantity of parts held in stock at that location so that MRP doesn’t try to plan any new purchases. However, we would need to allow a lead time of say 2 weeks to allow the transfer of any material back to our site. If we had some unexpected demand pop up, we wouldn’t want the stock at the off-site location to show as immediately available.I was looking into the use of remote warehouses & transport tasks to cover this. We have never used these so don’t have any experience with the set up etc. We are a single site company and have always maintained our inventory on site, as company owned material.I created a new remote warehouse with an availability control & transf

ACR voucher type journal import

Hello All, I would like to know about importing Accrual journals in to IFS 10. I have imported Journal in external voucher analysis and this is accrual journal in period 4 and it’s been created and posted and I can see in GL voucher analysis but the question is I want this journal reverse automatically in period 5 for which I can’t find any option to see the reversal in period 5 as I get in manual voucher entry.Can anybody please help?Many thanksFenee

Single Part Hanging Up when Manually Issuing to a Shop Order

My company has been having an issue with a single part when we manually issue it to a shop order. This isn’t consistent for this one part, meaning one moment it will take 5 minutes to save the page when manually issuing and the other moment it is instantaneous. To troubleshoot this, we created a separate part from scratch that was the same without using the “copy part” functionality and we found that for a bit this was working, manually issuing was instantaneous, but eventually we were back to that new part taking around 5 minutes to manually issue. We ran a debug session to see what exactly is the hold up and it shows that one API (&AO.Shop_Ord_Util_API.Manual_Issue) took around 100k ms to complete. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?Again, this is for one part. We have more than a handful of similar parts that are setup the exact same way that don’t have this problem.Any help is appreciated.

UI Designer - Lookup Display Description

Hello, I’m trying to add a Lookup field for a Global Code on FSM’s UI Designer, however I’m not able to present the description of this field, only the code is being displayed. Example of the code being displayed in the WebClient: If I change this field to a ComboBox, the description is displayed as expected. Separate Delivery notes for Shipment or Switching Shipment

Dear All, We are starting to use IFS Shipment Sometimes, we are creating a shipment when our planner want to ship goods to a customer. From time to time, we send shipments with more than one truck and then we don’t know what product will go on which truck beforehand. This is creating a problembecause we need separate delivery notes for every truck Is there a way to fix this within a shipment ?Despite the ordinary “create additional shipment” i see 2 and a half options that may work Issuing more thann one delviery note per shipment. If this would be possible, (honestly i don’t think it is) then it will mostly fix the problem. Ability to quickly switch the lines between shipment. This is also a submethod of creating new shipment, but still when we can go to a shipment lines RMB line and then click “switch to another shipment” this would be much more easier to do than deleting the liens from one shipment and adding it to another.
