Difference Unit Cost - Part cost

Hi, Can someone give me some insights on the difference between unit cost and part cost? If I manufacture a standard part, with labour and material, for the first time, it looks like IFS puts the standard cost into the unit cost after receiving (I did not do any calculation up front). This value is ok, do I need to do the part cost calculation? What’s the consequence If I don’t? Configurable parts, with standard cost and cost per config setting, seem to have that cost on the unit cost. If i make a config for the first time, IFS adds the cost in the unit cost. Do I need to do the calculate cost up front in the DOP of interim header?

MRP does not take shop order into account

Hi, I cannot figure out why MRP does not take a released shop order into account. I have the following IPAP :On hand/usable/available qty: 18720Shop order with due date 06/08: supply of 24020, giving a projected ammount of 42740Cust order with due date 24/08: Demand of 49720 I run MRP, and the system gives me a shop order req with due date 24/08, of 31000. This will bring my projected qty on 24020, exactly the ammount of the already created SO. Does anyone know which settings could cause this? The part has planning method A, on the shop order we have the boxes ‘Include as Supple’, ‘Include as Demand’ and ‘Include as Load’ checked. There is no minimum/max lot size

Intersite flow with partial delivery

Hi, We have a situation where we use the supply code ‘Int Pur Dir’ on a CO. We want the goods to go directly from our supplying site to the customer. Supplying site is a another internal customer.So order comes in at site A, PO gets created to site B, CO get created at site B, Site B can ship to customer directly and invoice goes via site A. Automatically via EDI.Everything works smoothly for the first shipment. It gets created automatically, we can ship. But we don’t want to ship the complete order at once from site B to costumer. Let’s say the order is for 100 PCS, and we want to ship 10 at a time.We ship the first 10 from site B, everything goes perfect. But if we want to create a new shipment, the available pcs don’t get shown in the shipment tab ‘Available order lines’. It’s just empty. We tested this in a different enviroment and it worked, but for some reason now it doesn’t. Does anyone know which settings are important to check in this case? Best regards

List of available locations

Hi, A step of the putaway algoritm is to list all possible locations where a part could be stored. Could we see that list? So if I receive a part, I want to have a list of all possible locations where that part could be stared (so matching capacities, capabilities, enough free space, etc)

Reserve from stock, but only issue from inbound/specified locations

Hi, In our current process, we reserve materials in the warehouse (picking locations). The warehouse worker moves those reserved goods to the production floor with a transport task (which is inside a warehouse task). The operator issues the materials and starts the shop order clocking. We want to make sure that the operator can only issue after the warehouse worker has finished the warehouse task. So he should only be able to issue from the inbound or specified locations (not from the picking locations).Is this possible?

Attachments of control plan template

Hi, We would like to use attachments in control plan templates, where the attachments of the control plan template are also copied into the created control plans (IFS10) However, that does not seem to work. We create a control plan template, add the attachments. But when we use that template to create new control plans, the attachments of the template are not attached to the newly created control plan. Is there something we do wrong, or is this not possible? If not, does anyone know a workaround besides manually adding the attachment to each newly created plan? thank you!

WaDaCo: default location

Hi, We use WaDaCo, configuration “Move Handling Unit” to move parts in handlings units from the arrival zone to stock.All parts have a default location. Every handling unit has only 1 sort of parts in it.We would like to see that default location on the scanner. However, when we put the “List Of Values” on auto pick, the correct value is fetched but it’s not changeable anymore: WaDaCo goes to the next step with that value.Adding it as feedback also doesn’t help.Any idea? We want the default location to be visible, but it should not be hard coded in the proces.

WADACO: RECEIVE_SHOP_ORDER batch no

Hi, We have set IFS10 to generate a new batch nr for every Shop order receipt. In the desktop version, everything works ok: we receive and automatically a new batch nr is chosen for that specific receival of a handling unit. However, we cannot get this right in WaDaCo: the scanner keeps asking for a batch nr, while it should automatically create one when we do the Receive Shop Order proces. Any ideas how to get this right? Best regards!

Change engineering part revision

Hi, During receipt of a part, the engineering part revision was manually changed. We want to sent the part back to the supplier, but it gives an error which we assume is because this engineering part revision change. Is there a way to change the engineering part revision back, so we can do the return to supplier? Thank you!

pegged / no pegged in DOP

Hi, how can we set the default method “create pegged” to Pegged or no pegged in a DOP? Some components we never want it to be pegged. Doesn’t matter in which DOP. If we don’t have stock, we just want MRP to order it without a peg.Other components can always be pegged. So it depend on the inventory part. I can change it on the DOP itself, but do I need to do it each time?

Settings for components of a configurable part

Hi all, Can you help out how to set-up these configuration settings? We have Configurable sales part A, manufactured Sales part A can consist of B1, B2 and/or B3, depending on what is choosen. We never have B1, B2 or B3 on stock. B1 consist of C1.1, C1.2 and C1.3B2 consists of D2.1 and D2.1B3 consist of E1 B1, B2 and B3 will always be manufactured when its needed for a configuration. We don’t have stock of these.Cx, Dx and Ex will always be on stock. We have a safety stock of these, so we can manufacture them in advance using shop order reqs from MRP. Let’s say I run the configurator, and a DOP gets created. In that DOP, after release, I want to see the shop order to create Top Part A, shop orders to make B1 and B2, and a reservation for C and D components. Is it enough playing with the netting parameter on the inventory parts? Should I use supply setting DOP for more than the top part? Thanks!

Change from manufactured to purchased in DOP order

Hi, is it possible to change the supply of a DOP order from manufactured to purchased? A part in in my structure is manufactured. However, due to capacity constraints,, I want to purchase it. What’s the easiest way to do this update in the DOP?

APB - set an order between shop orders

Hi, In APB, I would like to set that that Shop order B cannot start before shop order A. This for the simple reason that Shop Order A produces material needed in shop order B. It’s al fine with the need dates, but as soon as we start rescheduling, the system does not alert us if we schedule shop order B before A. Also, the system will do it himself if we let him schedule. Can this be avoided? Best regards

Tubes

Hi, We buy tubes of 5m of our supplier. In our production, we need these tubes but in a length of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5m.Because of form fit function, it seems to me that this should be 5 different inventory parts.How should we manage this in IFS, knowing that in our shop order, it’s mentioned that we need tube of 3m for example. However, if needed, the operator can also use one of 4 or 5m. Then he just cuts it, an puts the remaining length on stock. The decission of taking a different length, is taken when he picks the material. How can we easiliy achieve this?

Advanced planning board

Hi, In the current lay-out of our advanced planning board, all shop orders are showing line by line, in a step wise matter. Isn’t it possible to see them all next to each other, on one line?If i have many shop orders on different workcenters, i cannot see them all on 1 page. Also, it is possible to change to workcenter of a shop order in the advanced planning board, or do I need to do this in the application itself and reload? thanks!

Return to supplier error: Location XX does not exist

Hi, using Apps 10. Some months ago, we received a part. We received it at QA, did inspection (pass), moved into stock at location XX. We wanted to use the part, but then noticed that it was not OK. So we want to send it back to the supplier. The easiest way (as far as we know) is to return it using the PO. So we moved the part to location XX, put the ‘to inspect’ qty at 1 and re-initiated the inspection. But when trying to return the part, it showed the error “Location XX does not exist” When we check the part serial history, we can see that the part is there and that this was the first picking location of the part after it arrived. Any idea where this come from?

Report operation with Wa Da Co

Hi, In our shop order, we have operations which are actually a visualisation of the move from the part from one workcenter to another:Operation 1: Make Part in WC1Operation 2: Transport Part from WC1 to WC2Operation 3: Make part in WC2 Is there any way we can close operation 2 using Wadaco, so we don’t need the workbench for the people doing the move (logistic people)? Shop floor workbench: close shop order without reporting last operation

Hi, In our shop orders, the last operation is not mandatory. Based on how the previous operation went, we might need to do it or not. It’s the operator himselve who decides, on the spot. How can we easily do this with the shop floor workbench? Ideally we would have the option to close the operation and in the same time, the shop order and receive the material. The last operation can be just closed. Any idea?

Cost in estimate is not transferred to sales quotation

Hi, Is it correct that the cost that is showing in the sales quotation, is not linked with the cost of the connected estimate? This is the flow:I start a sales quotation. I add a sales quotation line with a certain part that I want to modify. I select the line, and create an estimate. In the Estimate, I do my thing, change the part, add a markup, calculate and confirm. Afterwards, I update the connected objects. The new sales price is now shown in the sales quotation line. However, as I now have a new cost for my product (from the estimate), I would like it to be seen in the sales quotation as well. The info is in the estimate, with the margin calculation and everything, however in the sales quotation I still have the ‘old’ cost, from the original part. Is there something I need to do extra to have the ‘new’ cost? It’s important as my margin calculation is also not correct.

RMA with multiple partners

Dears, Could you help me out with designing the best flow for this process? We, let’s say company B, buy a part from Company A using the purchase flow. We sell the same article to the end costumer, with a costumer order. However, when the article is broken and needs repair, the costumer returns it to company B. Company B will send it back to company A for repair, the repaired article goes back to company B and back to the costumer.Articles are serial tracked. Flow: A → B → End costumer → B → A → B → end costumer.I’m struggling with how to send the article back to Company A and receiving it, after we shipped it to the costumer. Thank you!

Instant MRP/ direct DO creation

Dears, In a current setup, a Customer Order in site A will generate a Distribution Order to get the goods in site B. Always, Site A will always get these goods from site B.I would like that this process happens instantly, automatically, in a 1 on 1 relation. So each CO that is placed, must generate a DO to get this amount. Example: Customer places a order for 10 pcs at site A. a distribution order is created instantly to get these goods from site B.Seconds later, another customer places an order for 5 pcs at site A. Another DO is created, now to get 5 pcs. How can I set this up? I don’t want to wait on the scheduled MRP. I don’t think there is a planning method which takes each order individually?Thank you!

'Flexible' outside operations

Hi, We have a scenario where a contractor comes in to do some work on a shop order. However, it doesn’t really matter when he does the job. Once he can start, the PR may be sent. In the meanwhile, we continue the operations on the SO. When he can do the job, he can do it.example:We have a SO with 20 operations. As soon we reach Operation 5, the contractor can come. In the meantime we continue with operation 6, 7, 8, 9,… untill the end. One time the contractor will come at operation 8, other time at 10, etc. Doesn’t matter. How can we easily do this in IFS? With the outside operation, our part is ‘blocked’ untill the operation is done. Making a manual PR doesn’t connect the cost with the SO.

FMEA

Hi,Some questions about the FMEA module: For the same failure, I can add multiple effects and causes. However, to have a correct RPN score, I want to link a specific cause with a specific effect. Currently, IFS always links the cause with the first effect of the list. How can I link it with the second effect? Is there a way to include/see if a FMEA for a subassembly has allready been done in the final assembly? Example: I have subbassemblies A and B, which I manufacture seperately. I have Product structure for C, which consists of A and B. I would like to see in my structure for C that I allready have a FMEA for A. You can check by going to the structure of A, but if A is used in many other structures that wouldn’t be convenientUsing APP10 Thanks!

Subcontracting with more documents

Hi, if we use the standard Ship WIP to supplier, we only have the delivery note that can be printed. We would like to have more documents in some cases, comparable to the options we have in the shipment flow/ customer order flow. How can this be achieved? Thanks!
