is it possible to change the supply of a DOP order from manufactured to purchased?
A part in in my structure is manufactured. However, due to capacity constraints,, I want to purchase it. What’s the easiest way to do this update in the DOP?
+25You cannot select whether the DOP order should create a shop order or purchase requisition when released. It is always created based on the part type.
However once released, you can Unpeg the shop order from the DOP, (and then remember to also cancel/delete it)
Next you can choose to Create New Pegged Order. And now instead create a Purchase Requsition or Purchase Order to supply this DOP Order.

After creating structure, but before release, we could also peg a PO right? That removes the need of deleting stuff afterwards,
+25Before the DOP order is released you cannot create a new pegged PO, but you can manually create a PO and then peg it to the DOP order.
+9Found this question when looking for a solution how to change a Customer Order Line with supply code DOP from make to buy. I expected to be able to change the supply code to Purchase, but that is not allowed for Sales Parts with an Inventory Part setting = DOP. Then tried the above by unpegging the shop order and pegging a new purchase order and that works 😀.
