Hi,

In our shop order, we have operations which are actually a visualisation of the move from the part from one workcenter to another:

Operation 1: Make Part in WC1

Operation 2: Transport Part from WC1 to WC2

Operation 3: Make part in WC2

Is there any way we can close operation 2 using Wadaco, so we don’t need the workbench for the people doing the move (logistic people)?

Best regards!

Hi,

I know very little about Shop Order or Work Centers, but maybe you can look at processes we have for Transport Task or Move, we have couple for parts and handling units. Not sure if a move between inventory locations can be compared to a move between work centers.
There is also some shop order processes in CORE like Manual Issue SO, Receive SO and Pick SO, not sure if any one those can be used for what you want to do.

Hi,

Is the material your moving already issued to the Shop Order for Operation 10?

What drives the business requirement to visualize a move from one work center to another?  For example, is it to capture the logistics team time to move the material?

Hi,

Business requirement is to visualise wether an operator can start an operation or not.

The business has many short operations, and many goods are present in the inbound area. The workcenters are distanced from each other.

Currently, if you report operation 1, operation 2 can be started at once. However, the materials can still be in the outbond of the workcenter of operation 1. The logistic teams still needs to move it. That’s not visible in IFS.

We added an extra operation between 1 and 2. However, the logistic team needs to report that operation using the shop floor workbench. Would be easier if they can use the WaDaCo as they are used to it.

@Dario Zani @Björn Hultgren Interesting feedback here. It points out two weaknesses where I can quote other customers to better explain the challenges in that area :

  • We have a CAMRO project at OGMA in Portugal to run their engine shop. They are moving out from Oracle EBS. In Oracle, they’ve done a modification to be able to track a part between two operations, just because they need to track where the part is in a large facility, and organize the daily work for part trackers (employees responsible to move parts from one machine to another). What was done at your customer, creating interim operations, is really a workaround, and the requirement would be to use transport tasks in that context, even if the part is in WIP. That one is for @Björn Hultgren
  • At SAMES, a manufacturer, they are moving out from Infor Movex, and wants to execute shop orders in Scan it. The use-case is that warehouse keepers assemble final products before shipments, and execute other usual transactions enabled in Scan it. No way today for them to have a unique experience through Scan it. Please consider the native app for mobile warehousing with Infor M3 is capable of that.

@Bertrand Dousset To be able to better track and handle movements of shop order WIP has been requested before in the idea like below. Please consider either describing your scenario on one of the existing ideas, or create your own new idea!
